  1. With so many unissued tunes, it looks like a Volume 3 could still be issued?
  2. Fischer/Helmchen - Schubert - Rondo Brillant D.895 & Beethoven - Piano Concerto No.4, Op.58
  3. Dvorak - Piano Concerto Op.33 & Haydn - Op.76/4 "Sunrise"
  4. I like the 2 Dexter / Jackie albums. Have not listened to them in a long time so need to play them again soon.
  5. Heifetz - Pennario - Piatigorsky - Mendelssohn - Piano Trio No.2, Op.66 & Beethoven - String Quartet Op.18/4
  6. I have this one.
  7. I have been a fan of the terrific Vanguard mainstream series for a long time. Have more recently been listening quite a lot to the many very good Black & Blue recordings by a long list of mainstream musicians. Some examples of the latter are Arnett Cobb, Illinois Jacquet, Jay McShann, Milt Buckner, Guy Lafitte, Sir Charles Thompson, Ellis Larkins, Charlie Shavers,Johnny Lettman, Buddy Tate and many others.
  8. It seems that a number pianists, who were involved in one way or another with the Young Lions, are players I listen to now quite a lot. Thinking of Donald Brown, James Williams, Mulgrew Miller, Benny Green, Cyrus Chestnut and Eric Reed. I don't listen to (with a very few rare exceptions) to Wynton or Bradford Marsalis, Joshua Redman or Donald Harrison. I do listen to Brian Lynch, and (some recordings by) Roy Hargrove.
  9. A. Fesca - Septet No.2, Op.28 & Brahms - Symphony No.2
  10. Goetz - Piano Quartet Op.8 and Rott - String Quartet in C minor
  11. Haydn - Op.76/2 & Brahms - Violin Sonata No.3, Op.108
