  1. Haydn- String Quartets Op.50/1 Op50/2 Op.50/3 - Amati Quartet
  2. I have seen Herlin Riley play a few times over the years, and he was a terrific drummer. Very creative and swings beautifully.
  3. Yusef Lateef plays tenor sax throughout this entire album. I have long believed that tenor sax is his strongest instrument. His sidemen on this session are not, in my opinion, as strong as on his Savoy and Prestige recordings.
  4. Beethoven Symphony No.3 - Suitner / Staatskapell Berlin
  5. Come on Kevin, there is nothing wrong with people expressing their opinions on a musicians live performance or recording. I don't recall and lengthy thread discussing Jason Marsalis.
  6. Mozart - String Quintets K.515 and K.516
  7. When searching to see what was available with Vinnie Riccitelli, I discovered this album. It is a winner with fine arrangements, top quality playing, and it will swing you into next month. Don't sleep on it.
  8. Most jazz flute playing is not to my taste. However while I much prefer to hear them on tenor, I can accept the flute playing of James Moody, Yusef Lateef,, Frank Wess, Roland Kirk and Bobby Jaspar. My favorite jazz flute player is Sam Most. Holly Hoffman is good too.
  9. Another jazz piano player that is new to me. This guy can play very very well. An album I highly recommend for those who like straight ahead swinging jazz. George Mraz adds some fine bass work as well.
  10. Haydn - String Quartets Op.76/4 Op.76/5 Op.76/6
