  3. Yesterday read through this entire thread. It is somewhat strange to realize that all but the most recent few posts were from eleven years ago. My guess is that the opinions expressed would most likely be exactly the same today. The playing of Eric Alexander, Grant Stewart and Scott Hamilton today would have been expected to have changed a bit with all those 11 years of experience as a result of maturity and playing over all those years with a large variety of musicians throughout the world. I suppose the way to judge that might be to play their early recordings to the most recent ones.
  4. Flip Phillips Bill Charlap
  5. Mendelssohn - String Quintet No.1 and Chopin - Piano Concerto No.1
  6. Schumann - Piano Trio No.1 and Mozart- Piano Concerto No.27

  10. In the mid-70's my wife and I were visiting London. Thought it would interesting to go the Peter Ind's - Bass Clef club to hear some music. Had a hell of a time finding our way there via the Underground. Eventually got there and did get to hear some nice music. Though, I don't actually recall who was performing that evening so very long ago. Doubt if it was anything really special, or I would have remembered
