Both Gene Norman and Pacific Jazz recorded Clifford Brown in 1954. That was while the "West Coast Jazz" phase was in full bloom. Though the session on Pacific Jazz did feature , along with Clifford, a number of "regular" west coast musicians such as Jack Montrose. -

Don't recall seeing one of my very favorite jazz pianists mentioned - Carl Perkins. He did a trio session for the DooTone label, was a sideman on that label with Dexter Gordon, as well as his sideman role with The Curtis Counce group on Contemporary -
The Paul Desmond sessions would be my favorites from this list. This was George Cable's first recording as a leader. It is good, but I prefer many of his later ones. Not familiar with the Ralph Sutton on Flyright. His 1979 recording with Ruby Braff titled "R & R" on Chiaroscuro is one from the 70's I like very much.

Chet Baker at a peak, and (down below) Junior Cook likewise
Peter Friedman replied to Larry Kart's topic in Recommendations
The Junior Cook CDs are both very good. The 3rd one on Steeplechase with Valery Ponomov on trumpet is also worth hearing. Not sure why, but never was able to relate to the playing of pianist Phil Markowitz. The Chet Baker albums from that same time period that I much prefer are the three trio dates with Doug Raney, and the quartet session with Duke Jordan. All four of these albums are on Steeplechase. -
