  1. Mozart - Violin Concert No.5, K.219 "Turkish) - Heifetz Anton Rubinstein - Cello Concerto No.1, Op.65
  2. Jimmy Heath's first recordings were done in 1947. As both a tenor player and composer he has made many highly important contributions to jazz. I have long enjoyed his many sessions for the Riverside label. Perhaps my favorite Jimmy Heath album is the quartet date for the Xanadu label that Soulpope posted above, There cannot be very many jazz musicians left who first recorded in 1947 or earlier. R.I.P.
  3. Walter Davis Jr. - Illumination - Jazz City - with Bob Mover, Ron Carter, Kenny Washington
  4. Theses are 2 of my favorite Barney Kessel albums. Let's Cook! has 2 groups - Kessel with Victor Feldman, Hampton Hawes, Leroy Vinnegar, Shelly Manne. The other group has Kessel with Ben Webster Frank Rosolino, Jimmy Rowles, Vinnegar, Manne. Spontaneous Combustion has Kessel with the Monty Alexander Trio - John Clayton & Jeff Hamilton. I forgot to add this one to my Kessel favorites. With Kenny Barron, Bobby Hutcherson, Rufus Reid and Ben Riley
  5. I did not are for any for any of Donald Byrd's recordings after The Creeper - Oct.1967. Though he was on The Duke Pearson Big Band session from April 1969 released on Uptown. Don't recall how he played on that date?
