  1. Haydn & Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel
  2. My definite preference is for the early CCBB recordings. I never really cared much for the album with Getz nor with Off Limits. Also found the use of 2 drummers to be less than ideal. Kenny Clarke was one of the best drummers around, and more than able to handle the drum part for the band. Sometimes I found the sound of the 2 drummers playing together irritating.
  3. Mahler is the composer where the length of his compositions makes it hard for me to connect with them. I would much rather listen to Brahms symphonies and concertos. Currently listening to Chopin's Mazurkas by Nedia Reisenberg.
  4. Sonny Clark has some fine solos on this session
  5. For some reason, this album usually gets overlooked among all the focus on Blue Note records. It is a very fine recording with some wonderful playing by Thad, Gigi Gryce, & Tommy Flanagan. It also features some of my favorite playing by Elvin Jones.
  6. Schubert - String Quartets D.32, D.74, D.353
  7. Mozart - Symphonies No.25, 30, 33 Krips / RCO
  8. Petersen Quartet - Mozart - String Quartet K.421 and K.465
  9. Schubert - Piano Sonata D.784 and Moments Musicaux D.780
  10. Cedar Walton was simply an outstanding jazz pianist and also a very fine composer.,
