  12. I recall seeing Paul Brown with the Bill Hardman / Junior Cook Quintet. It was a wonderful group. Hardman was in great form. However the pianist was not Michael Weiss, but rather was Walter Bishop, Jr. If I remember correctly the drummer was Leroy Williams, who also played beautifully. It was a memorable evening of outstanding jazz.

  17. This was a very sad surprise. I have most of Doug's recordings on Steeplechase, Criss Cross, Prevue, and Double-Time. Doug was one of my favorite guitar players. He left us much too young.
