  1. I was in the same boat, Hardbop, but I got my shipping notice last night. Maybe you did too? Looking forward to it.
  2. I'm waiting for mine to leave the warehouse...still...
  3. Preordered without hesitation, though I empathize with others who already have all of this music. Somehow I managed to never pick up Henderson's albums, and then they were on Spotify so I didn't need to, so this is an easy purchase for me (especially when it is a smaller/cheaper set than the now-standard 7 discers). Looking forward to it.
  4. Just got my Armstrong shipping notice. Bought last month via Paypal for what that's worth.
  5. Picked this up recently, and it reaffirmed my love of the Mosaic label sets. Even though it's strictly piano solos and trios, it's got a great variety that I can listen to for hours. I also just picked up a grail item - the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra!! - that I'm currently ripping to my NAS and then I'll take the dive into that. It's gonna be a good day.
  6. I totally agree, JSngry, just making the comment. And I'm sure you're right as well about Cecil, Dmitry; I should've checked Discogs. Just never see that one on eBay (nor am I looking, to be honest <--don't hate me). Fortunately, I've got both Byrd and Basie, but man, oh, man I wish it would've been the Roulette Studios - that's still on the grail list and oh so hard to find at a reasonable price like this one!!
  7. You could make a nice bit of change just buying and flipping a few of those. Basie Live Roulette, Byrd/Adams, and the rare Cecil Taylor in particular. I'm jealous you got the Donaldson so cheap - it's one of the midnight axed releases, I believe, and is never under $120 these days on eBay.
  8. I've been on quite a buying tear of late with some great additions, but I was very happy to finally score a NM copy of this long-sought gem:
  9. I somehow neglected to rip this onto my NAS, so going through it today. Really enjoy this set.
  10. Just picked this set up based on my love of the Condon Mob set and these reviews. Looking forward to it!
  11. Somebody's selling a like-new JJ Small Group set on ebay for $85 (Buy It Now price + $10 shipping)!! https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Complete-J-J-Johnson-Small-Group-Sessions-7-CD-set/372996668076?hash=item56d8557aac:g:FvcAAOSwlANednkd
  12. Diligent eBay patience and persistence finally paid off, and it's just as good as I'd hoped. Listening straight thru the set.
  13. I've been buying a little too aggressively on eBay lately, but without any remorse on my part whatsoever (now my dw on the other hand...). Currently alternating between these two, and they are both fantastic. As others on this board have discussed, I love the variety sets, and the Condon Mob is really, really excellent both sonically and musically. Dixieland really has a liveliness to it that's infectious - I'd dance along if I could, lol. J.J. is likewise an interesting set for the variety he himself searched for. Haven't finished the liner notes just yet, but you really can see him always working toward something new with each recording session as Loren Schoenberg notes in the essay.
  14. Disc 12 - probably going to work my way backwards through the set today.
  15. Sorry for the delay, Mike, but I don't have my account set to notify me if someone comments! I got it for for $46 including shipping, which I think was an absolute steal (it's like-new condition). I've been compulsively watching eBay for it to come back around after I missed it for $50 something (and that was without the book and box), and I think I just lucked with an odd-timed auction that people missed. Incredibly happy with the set and highly recommend it. Agreed, Bluesnik. Some days you just want to hear a great piano trio, and this set gives you that many more options. It is just consistent high quality throughout - not a dud track.
  16. Just picked up the Pacific Jazz Piano Trios on eBay and am thoroughly enjoying all of it.
  17. Do a search for "Mosaic Records" in Spotify. I previously created a playlist of all current Mosaics.
  18. Discovered this on Spotify and am in a big band mood these days so gave it a listen. Surprised how solid the whole set is start to finish. Superb musicians and a massive ensemble sound.
  19. Thanks for that list, Daniel A. I tried to search the forums and Spotify for Mosaic Records playlists in various configurations, but that obviously returned a lot of unrelated material. It looks like more sets have been added since Ayers put his list up, but I went ahead and grabbed the Johnny Mercer Select from his list because I'd missed it. Can't hurt to have multiple Mosaic playlists!
  20. Thought it might be worth while collecting all of the Mosaic sets available on Spotify onto a playlist, if only to make them more easily searchable. Thoughts? I know there's more out there - what am I missing?
  21. Awesome. Thanks, I’ll give it a try.
  22. Anyone have a disc 2 of the Mosaic Decca 1935-1946 Louis Armstrong? Picked up the set, but the second disc was missing.
  23. Just received it in the mail yesterday! Had to make the move once I saw it was on Last Chance, and it does not disappoint. Going straight through all three CDs this morning.
  24. Today it's Stanley Turrentine, again via Spotify. Great, straight ahead jazz!
