  1. The stupid Stitt Mosaic is for those of us who consume too much alcohol while listening to Stitt.
  2. Me too. I still desire the stupid Stitt Mosaic box.
  3. If the CD format is acceptable, CDUniverse has the title for $14.29. This is the one I would buy.
  4. There has been much negative talk on this Board regarding Ron McMaster. I don't mean the McMasters from the 1980s, rather, the more recent McMasters. As much as I listen for a problem with McMaster's work, I don't hear it. I haven't heard the Lou Donaldson set. However, I will own a copy of the Lou Donaldson box someday. I do own the Stanley Turrentine Mosaic. I've read, numerous times, how McMaster somehow, mysteriously, lessened the quality of Turrentine's sound. Again, I don't hear it. The Turrentine Mosaic sounds very good to my ears. It's a given that Malcolm Addey is my favorite. Ron McMaster has a good remastering manner too.
  5. The Dex is a terrific set of music from Mosaic (as usual). The Dexter Mosaic Select is my favorite Dexter material. It's got a great live vibe and groove. For me, Dexter was never better. My least favorite Select is the Duke Pearson. A couple of my favorites that don't seem to receive a lot of discussion are the Curtis Amy and the Bennie Green. If you read one of the old Mosaic catalogs, the information on the front-inside cover discusses how Ron McMaster did quite a good job in recovering the material for the Shank/Cooper Select.
  6. Ohhhh yeah. The Mosaic sound quality with Malcom Addey at the helm is the best. Ron McMaster does excellent work, with the sound, as well. You may read about my Mosaic/Addey orgasm via my three posts starting here. Mosaic and Malcom Addey.
  7. I don't know. The older I get, the better my life gets. Still, you have a good look and so does your daughter. I like, especially, the modelling picture of your daughter and the picture of you with the trombone. Both are artistic pictures. Both present attractive images
  8. Man, you've got a good look (errr, yes... I do prefer women) and you make nice-looking kids.
  9. Yours is a cool picture.
  10. Did I mention... the guy with the gun was full of Tecate?
  11. We were heading for the border to join the Minuteman Project. No. Really, my friend (with the gun) is a gun enthusiast. The gun he's holding, he built it himself. He ordered ALL the parts from the Internet. The parts were delivered to his house by United Parcel Service. The gun is some type of semi-automatic thing (I don't know much about guns). He enjoys shooting the gun in the desert where there are no other folks around. He fills the gun with generic Russian bullets (the bullets were purchased via the Internet too).
  12. Then avoid corporate life. I agree. I've met many more 'snakes' where I work than I've ever seen in the desert.
  13. Haven't seen one since I left Iowa in '66 unless you count some business associates. I ran over the damned thing in the Jeep. I never saw the snake (which proves how well rattlesnakes are disguised in the desert). My friend, behind me, saw the snake slithering away. He jumped out of his Jeep and got a digital-camera video of the snake. I wouldn't have approached the snake, had I known it was there, to snap a picture. I prefer to let rattlesnakes do their own things (away from me).
  14. I saw a rattlesnake last Sunday.
  15. Hot weather, Mexican food, deserts, friends, and Jeeps. Why would I leave? Errr, catesta plans to move FROM Arizona TO somewhere (like Pennslyvania)? Maybe he's been affected by the Arizona heat in a not-so-positive way?
  16. Here is a picture of me and a couple of friends, last weekend, enjoying the southern Arizona desert. I'm the one in the middle. The one without enough intelligence to wear a hat, in the desert, in Arizona. B-) link I linked to the picture rather than posting the image herein. My intention being to NOT slow the loading of this thread. The picture is an 886kb download.
  17. Yeah, but these days, what doesn't? The Capitol Jazz Mosaic box.
  18. Reason #11 -- It costs less than a gallon of gasoline
  19. This article kills me. But, what the frick, I'll have another drink and some more Sonny Rollins. Works for me.
  20. I have many posts. I must be very knowledgeable. wbe. (I need to get some sleep. My Dad is planning to meet for breakfast in a restaurant in the morning.)
  21. Classic. Absolutely.
  22. I'm enjoying me some Sonny Stitt this evening. wbe. JCorner thread
  23. I don't like seeing pictures of children on the internet. You're being a bully. wbe.
  24. What do you like about the jazz-board community? Fuck. wbe.
