The La Venexiana Monteverdi recordings are truly excellent ..... the 12CD box is an overkill ? The answer is, that on one side you have a lot of choices here and on the side it would cost you "an arm and a leg" if trying to buy a couple of these as individual copies. Alternatives? Probably Concerto Italiano with Rinaldo Alessandrini, nevertheless also here availability is an issue .... but still not the the execution doesn`t have the same transparency and phrasing as performed by La Venexiana .... Consort Of Musicke ? IMO not in the same league, but dedictaed followers of Emma Kirkby will try to prove me wrong ....

As the "Journeyman" status in Soul would be based on several relocations and Record Label (btw most of these were short lived too) switches, I believe most of the Soul Singers could be labeled superficially this way .... having said that, Otis Clay had his shot for a "higher level" but circumstances at Hi Records at that time (as discussed before) prevented him getting there ....

So a solution could be to put them to a file with acces to boardmembers who are ready to go throught this "pain" .... simply deleting these gathered infos certainly is not an resoltution .... but possibly I`m - thinking informations having a value - too old school ....

Probably .... but as you've rightly mentioned Buell Neidlinger's playing is stunningly authoritative here ....
