I don't buy the SZ every day and neither check their website daily, but got it today because of the Helmut Newton obituary and saw that article. It's the start of a series. Maybe we can try to watch for them and post them here? I notice this, too. Rather hard to get used to it. But over at AAJ I never was able to type something, then select it, click the bold-button. Always had to click B, then enter text in special opening window. That's even more of a pain. ubu

Tony, in my humble opinion the Nichols is worth much more than 36 bucks! Please keep us posted when you have listened! And if you like it, start hunting Nichols' last album, on Bethlehem, "Love, Gloom, Cash, Love", with Dannie Richmond and George Duvivier. If you're lucky you can still find the 2000 (or was it 1999?) reissue done by Avenue Jazz/Rhino. ubu

By the way, that they wrote "when we reordered the set" explains a further question: they do seem to only have a certain amount of sets available, and once they're sold, they order more. ubu

magical words for me Yes indeed! but it seems they sold so bad that they did not release a third planned batch. I got the Andreza thanks to a very kind member of this board, and thoroughly enjoy it, including harpsichord The Touff was the biggest surprise for me. I picked it up more for completeness' sake and Bill Perkins than for knowing Touff himself - and I really like that disc! ubu

I like the quartet track with Wilen on soprano very very much! And it's interesting to note that this is pre-soprano-Coltrane. ubu

These two are the same as Reinarnation tk 1 and Body & Soul (alt) on my list, above, I suppose. I have the Candid Dolphy CD, and always thought it had no additional material compared to the Mingus discs. ubu
