  1. Thanks for the link. I ordered the UHQCD of the 2CD set from Japan, so it's going to be a bit of a wait.
  2. Booker Ervin The Trance
  3. Jaki Byard Out Front!
  4. My collection felt a little light on Jaki Byard, but some of his OJCs are a bit hard to get second hand. Then last week I got lucky. A new Dutch seller on Discogs with a bunch of mint copies of titles I was after. For €65 I got: Jaki Byard: Out Front, Here's Jaki, The Jaki Byard Experience Booker Ervin: Groovin' High, The Trance, Setting The Pace, Heavy!!! Now listening to: Jaki Byard The Jaki Byard Experience
  5. My 1986 Victor CD shows the adjusted tracklisting on the back cover artwork as well as in the booklet (page 2 and back). Thanks for your reply. I (obviously) have no answer to your question about Max Roach's original intentions.
  6. I have been listening a lot to this album lately and at the monent I feel I could listen 24 hours non-stop to this track: Freedom Day from Max Roach's We Insist! Freedom Now Suite.
  7. Anthony Braxton Quartet (Santa Cruz) 1993 Disc 2
  8. Coleman Hawkins The Hawk Relaxes (OJC)
  9. The Art Farmer Quintet Blame It on My Youth
  10. John Coltrane Live in Seattle (UCCI-9206/7, SHM-CD)
  11. Are the liner notes to your edition in English or Japanese? Someone on Discogs with your edition claims the liner notes say the Victor CDs were made from Max Roach personal master tapes. (link) I have the previous Victor Japan CD edition from 1986, VDJ-1568. Liner notes are in Japanese, but it does say in English 'Licensed by Max Roach', twice. Clearly the 1986 CD is not sourced from vinyl. Much nicer sound than the EU/US Candid CDs.
  12. Booker Ervin Structurally Sound
  13. You might have hit the nail on the head here.
  14. Muhal Richard Abrams ‎1-OQA+19
  15. Max Roach & Anthony Braxton one in two, two in one
  16. Max Roach Featuring Anthony Braxton Birth and Rebirth
  17. It's only Pakistani Pomade that is signed. I hope you'll find your copy of Swinging the Bim. Highest price ever on Discogs is a ridiculous €135, last copy sold 21 March 2018. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right seller to put up his wares. Best, Martin
  18. I am thinking of officially changing my first name.
  19. Idiocracy. Oh, shit! That was the eight o'clock news!
  20. Alexander von Schlippenbach Trio Pakistani Pomade (FMP, Atavistic) A couple of years ago I just could not find an affordable (like) new copy of the Atavistic CD. This month I bought an as new copy signed by both Alexander von Schlippenbach and Evan Parker from an Austrian record store on Discogs. Very reasonably priced at €30 imo. The store owner told me he recently bought a large collection of free jazz, perhaps from an estate, I don't know. The autographs are personalised für/to Martin. Bought a bunch of good stuff from that seller past month.
