  1. http://youtu.be/s-clvDxl8qI Fast forward to 1:14:36 George on why he actually is not an angry man.
  2. Bill Cosby never made me laugh out loud from when I first saw his Cosby show as a child. Didn't know what rape was then.
  3. Thank you for the video. The recent SHM-CD of Memorial Vol.1 has only three alternate takes (C, A & D) of Twisted, same as the OJCs, but different track order. The video states the source as Misterioso MLP1983. By the way, there are seven takes in total of Southside on the SHM.
  4. If he is, that means I'd have to pick up Miles and Cookin' now before they become unavailable.
  5. The title of this thread should be changed to Bill Cosby's lifelong love affair with Spanish Fly.
  6. His presence certainly didn't help Charles Mingus and Friends in Concert. He was deleted from the expanded CD version. Unfortunately, he is present on the latest version included in The Complete Columbia & RCA Albums Collection.
  7. The right wingers in power here have already declared the welfare state dead. We live in a 'participation society' (participatiesamenleveving) now. A smart bit of indoctrination to get the working poor and soon to be poor(er) to resent the 'workshy' unemployed and disabled for their growing misfortune.
  8. Eddie Johnson - Indian Summer Charles Tyler - Saga of the Outlaws Through ImportCDs, my first Nessa releases.
  9. I should have bought this earlier on. The paperback is now OOP and going for ridiculous prices in Europe. Fortunately, I found this like new price-clipped hardcover on abebooks for $25. Hopefully, it won't take too long to get here.
  10. There are only a couple that are really worth having. I wouldn't allocate too much funds to seventies BN if I were you.
  11. Suffused with scientific explanations. Some good ideas, but poorly executed & written.
  12. Bobby Hutcherson - Live at Montreux. Better than the studio albums from this decade imo. My favourite of the studio albums is Cirrus. Wayne Shorter - Odyssey of Iska. McCoy Tyner - Extensions.
  13. I don't believe this is coordinated. People just chose to put their head in the sand for a long time. Just look at what Jimmy Savile got away with for decades despite accusations being made from time to time. People in power (BBC, police) chose not to see or pursue. At least Cosby will get to live with the consequences of his deeds for the rest of his life, unlike pedophile & necrophiliac Savile.
  14. One of the biggest themes in this show is that any one of us could be one of those "stupid motherfuckers", given the right "opportunity". Even a lot of those given the opportunity to work for law enforcement, the judicial system & the city are assholes.
  15. I agree this is one of the best shows, but it's hard to like. I hate the world these characters live in. I suppose this show is quite realistic in many respects. I admit I have a low opinion of (gangsta) rap, that nonsense makes me angry. The world of The Wire is populated by a lot of stupid motherfuckers.
  16. Final season of Justified starts tonight.
  17. Død Snø 2.
  18. The Man In The High Castle, pilot episode. You can watch it for free om Amazon Prime in the US, UK & Germany.
  19. Hell is trolls derailing interesting discussion on the internet.
  20. List on page one updated with the help of .doc file Late provided.
  21. That was also my conclusion. SHM regular CD And the regular CD is already out of print only three months after its October 2014 release date.
  22. 350 pages into William Gibson's The Peripheral, I'm not convinced by the last 200+ pages, but I'll reserve judgement for now. I doubt this one ends up having a high re-readability factor. Story picked up pace again in the next chapter. A successful novel in the end. Not much to say about the plot, which is basically very simple, though the world is quite fleshed out in the end. Most characters are kind of thin. I do intend to reread this one later this year.
  23. It might be old music, but I'm not familiar with the whole BN catalog, unlike most old timers who have all this stuff on good sounding LPs, so easy talking about ignoring these SHMs. With regard to new music, I used to buy more new jazz music a decade ago. Perhaps this will change again when I can allocate the funds. For now, my priorities are a new amp & speakers and not missing out on these BN reissues and certain Mosaics that are on my wish list.
