  1. I will create a larger font skin soon. I will not go back to the lavendar and peach however. I am going to work on this skin a bit more to create a look that coincides with the look of the new organissimo homepage. The personal section of the forum is completely new, which is why the photos are no longer there. It uses an entirely different set of code. But I think it is pretty neat! I am toying with the idea of adding blog capabilities to the software, which means you could all have your own blog hosted here, have a friends network, etc. This software is using a more secure form of cookies. Most likely your browser is out of date and doesn't recognize them. I suggest updating your browser. I remember you saying your computer is older. If you're using IE and cannot update, I suggest switching to Firefox as it is smaller, more efficient, and will probably run better on your machine. I am not restoring the "old" board. I couldn't even if I wanted to.
  2. BTW, thanks to google, here's your original post: Feel free to start up a new topic.
  3. BTW, the drummer in that photo of the Gene Ludwig trio (top right) is none other than Randy Gelispie, who now lives in Lansing and is one seriously great drummer. He is on a lot of Bill Heid's organ recordings, too. He's one of my favorite drummers.
  4. Yes they do, and I will change the forum title accordingly. Good call, Jim. What about this one? http://www.lasternet.com/inthegroove/2007/...vin-on-b-3.html
  5. Jason fixed the javascript error. Everything should be functioning normally now. Thanks for your understanding, everyone!
  6. Larry, I'm bummed that we lost some posts. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do, unless Google happened to archive it between the time you posted it and when the board went down. I really apologize... we've never lost posts before, but there's a first time for everything.
  7. Cool! I hadn't tested the search function yet. Good to know that it works as it's supposed to. Now if we can just get these javascript errors resolved... EDIT: Yup, just tried it myself. If you put quotes around your phrase, for instance search for "Gene Ludwig", it works as it should now. Wow. Imagine that...
  8. Nope... looks like we're getting javascript errors overall. I've notified Jason from Invision Tech Support. I'm sure he'll get to the bottom of it.
  9. hmm... this thread seems to be a little funky, probably due to posts being added after the fact because of the query taking up so many resources while it was running... might have to axe it.
  10. Just got back from my gig. Jason is running one more query on the database to update the IP address table. If you notice a little slowness for the next few hours, that is why. The query should be done no later than 9am. Myself? I'm going to bed!

  12. I understand and believe me, I don't like to lose data. But as I explained, this is the very first time we've lost any posts. Stick around... re-post your thoughts... you'll be happy you did, I guarantee.
  13. This is the first crash we've had in our four year existence where posts were actually lost, if I recall correctly. We had a database error caused by me last year where we lost member accounts, but their posts were still actually in the database (they just show up as written by no one). Considering how large the database is (over 633,000 posts) to lose just a handful in a few years is a great track record, imo. What can I say; you just had bad timing. I don't think it warrants over-reaction. For the record, I take offense at the word "easily", since I've been stressing out about this entire ordeal all week long.
  14. It's getting close to time for a fund drive for the board AND we're gonna start raising money for the next organissimo album in a few months, too. But that's for another time...
  15. Yes, but you can still view Today's Active Topics from the main index page, right under the Board Statistics header. Obviously, there won't be too many active topics right now!
  16. Word. I gotta get my butt to Flint for a beer tent gig. Y'all behave in the new playground, ok?
  17. I would just like to say that MAJOR props need to go to Jason from Invision Tech Support. The man worked tirelessly to get us back up and running and to update the database. Whatever Invision is paying him, isn't enough. He also dealt smoothly with my meddling (I'm a DIY'er at heart... always wanted to take over and do stuff myself...) and had great suggestions. Jason, you are the man!
  18. Well get on it, Jim!
  19. The server went down Monday morning. Weekly back-ups are done on Sunday (not sure what time on Sunday). Anything posted after the back-up was lost, unfortunately. Thankfully the server crashed relatively soon after or we would have lost a lot more.
  20. Jim, I'll look into it... it is probably relatively easy to make a "large font" skin. Our old skins are still available as well, I've just disabled them as they need to be re-done. I don't know if I'll offer the numerous skin choices I did in the past. That's a LOT of work.
  21. There are still some skinning issues I need to contend with, like adding a donate button again, the CDUniverse search bar, etc. I'll get to that later, but for all intents and purposes we are back in action!
  22. Hi everybody! So sorry this took so long. I hope you enjoy this new version of the Invision software. I realize the look is quite different, but I think it is easier on the eyes and easier to read. The extra security added to this new software is really nice, too. You should notice an increase in speed as well, since we upgraded mySQL. In any case, I apologize again for the lengthy downtime and welcome you all back. POST AWAY!

  24. So I did my first test of passing signal through the machine and even recording a little bit to the crappy 456 reel that came with it (just for a minute or two... I know I shouldn't run that reel as it keeps shedding... I'm not going to put it through the machine any more). It put a stereo mix of a new Root Doctor tune to channels 1 and 2 on the Scully and pressed record and then played it back. Works great, although there are dropouts here and there no doubt due to the age of that shitty tape. Then I passed a submix of some drums I recorded into Cubase (Randy tearing up the kit) through the deck, not even to tape, just through the electronics, and back into Cubase. Wow. It sounds totally sweet. The Scully is adding transients to the drums that are probably what most people mean when they say "punchy". The drums just sound huge and come alive. And that's not even printing to tape yet! I'm excited about this machine. If I can find a good console to match up with it, I think it will really add some great dimensions to my recordings. I'm going to try to record the next organissimo album myself.
