Well, we made more money! We got 80% of the door and we had the place packed, so that's good. I think Johnny was a bit nervous here and there but overall he did great. He's still learning our tunes, our way of communcating on the bandstand, etc but that will come with time. It's hard to come into a group that's been playing for three years together and fit in.

Chuck, would you like me to reserve a booth for you?

My sleeping patterns are all fucked up. I went to bed at about 6:30 this morning, but didn't really fall asleep until 8am. Got up at 3 and now my whole day is wasted. I gotta get on some kind of rhythm. But I have the same problem: I can't shut my brain off.

Arno Marsh informed me that his quintet will be appearing at the Lighthouse on February 22nd for a live recording! Arno is Randy Marsh's father. Arno is a veteran of the big band scene, having played with the Woody Herman Thundering Herd back in the 1950s!!! Check it out here!

There's a cool internet only station I listen to called "Leslie Overdrive". It's on the Live365 website. Sometimes James (the dj) plays some cheesy stuff, but he also plays some real greasy Hammond organ music as well (including Organissimo!) Worth a shot. There is also WEMU in Ann Arbor but I don't know if they are streaming audio or not. They got all freaked out about that law passing around that wants to make stations pay royalties for streaming...

I heard this on WEMU this morning (which happens to be John's birthday)... the DJ said his house had burned down and he lost his entire collection of guitars, not to mention his record collection. Thankfully he and his wife were away at the time. Can anyone confirm this? The DJ did not give specifics (ie, when, where, how...)
