  1. You mean like this? Organissimo on Ebay!
  2. I emailed Pete for the first time about three years ago when I was living in Ann Arbor and got a CD which he had wrote liner notes for. I checked out his website (The Doodlin Lounge) and listened to his show and he was playing this SMOKIN' B3 groove... I though it was Jimmy Smith. When he came back and said who it was, it turned out to be Leon Spencer, Jr! Blew my mind! Anyway, I emailed him and requested some McDuff and he emailed me back and played some that night. I've kept in touch with him since and when our disc came out I sent him a copy first. He's been talking about doing an interview for a couple of months and I'm glad it worked out.
  3. Oops... the start time is 9:30pm Pacific... 12:30 EST.
  4. We also may have some hits in metro Detroit. I've been in contact with the management at Baker's Keyboard Lounge about getting in there next year. If we could nail down a date and how many people were actually going to make the trip, I think I could convince either club owner in Ann Arbor to give us a weekend... especially if a decent amount of people were coming specifically to hear us.
  5. I honestly felt compassion for the man as I watched the footage of him udergoing check-ups by the doctors. He looked completely defeated as a man. Makes one kind of sad. But then I thought about all the evil he transgressed upon his people... all the suffering while he was living in extravangent palaces. All the people he killed and tortured. And that sympathy vanished. The best sentence in my eyes considering all he's done is to lock him in solitary confinement for the rest of his years.
  6. Sorry to hear the day has been bleak. I hope everything is all right.
  7. Ha! That's exactly what I was going for with the reverb on the horn... the RVG sound from the Muse days on up. Of course, I didn't use quite as much reverb as he does, but nevertheless...
  8. Yeah, I've been trying to get him to post on here, too. I'll email him about it again...
  9. Hey everyone, Just did a radio interview with Pete Fallico of The Doodlin' Lounge, a great jazz show out of KUSP in Santa Cruz, California. Pete is an organ fanatic and plays fantastic soul jazz grooves on his radio show every Monday night. KUSP does stream on the web if anyone wants to listen in. KUSP Homepage His show is from 9pm to 12am Pacific Standard Time.
  10. We're still discussing this... I think we probably will re-press it, but maybe only 500 at this point.
  11. The Hammond oil is lighter than sewing machine oil. If you put the wrong oil in the Hammond, it'll ruin it.
  12. Yes, our initial run was 1,000 copies. We probably gave 300 away for promotional purposes (radio stations, festivals, clubs, etc) and CDStreet still owes us $340 from March 2003 sales, but we did manage to break even about a month ago. Thanks for the orders, Bebop and John. I hope you enjoy the disc!
  13. We did one more today that I'll probably put up soon. And we did one last year at the "Boogaloo" sessions that I can put up as well. Right now, I should get to bed! It's 7am here! I've been reading about tweaking my music computer for better performance for recording.
  14. You're welcome, Barak. It doesn't matter if you don't celebrate the "holidays", you can't go wrong with that tune. Such a beautiful melody!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
  15. By the way, I should add for my buddy Soul Stream that the organ I played is my 1954 Hammond C2 (with TrekII percussion added) running through the Leslie 21H I recently purchased in Chicago. I love the sound of this Leslie!!!
  16. Well friends, I finally got my little mini-studio up and running (which is why we haven't been recording anything lately for the Organissmio Tribute CD project). I recently sold a stand-alone harddisk recorder (the one I used to record "Life Wish" with on our CD) and bought a nice computer interface so I can do all my recording right into Cubase SX. Anyway, the boyz and I got together this afternoon down in my basement and cut this track as a gift to all of you's. This features Grand Rapids saxophonist Johnny Gist on tenor, me on the B3, Joe on guitar, and of course Randy on the skins. Happy Holidays everyone! I hope the season finds you all in good health and good spirits! CLICK ME -----> A little holiday music for you! **NOTE: The best way to hear this track is to right-click the above link (for you PC users) and choose "Save Target As" from the drop-down menu. Or you can just click the link and let the mp3 stream into your player. The mp3 is encoded at 190 kbps and the file size is about 7mb. EDIT: Ok, by request, here's two more holiday tunes for everyone. The first is another recorded by Joe, Randy and I in my basement this past weekend (no sax this time). The second was recorded last year during the "Boogaloo" sessions. Enjoy! CLICK ME 2 -----> More holiday music for you! CLICK ME 3 -----> Yet another piece of holiday music for you!
  17. There's only about 30 copies left of our CD...
  18. I had it last Sunday thru Monday. Not a bad case... I was out for all of Sunday and most of Monday with nausea and body aches. Luckily my wife, who is five months pregnant, did not come down with it!
  19. So is mine and I live here.
  20. Well we'd have to have a private concert for y'all because we do not get any gigs in Lansing. We play in Grand Radpis (1 hr. west of Lansing), Ann Arbor (1 hr. east of Lansing), Holland (1 1/2 hrs. from Lansing) etc. But no gigs in Lansing. Lansing is dull. Great place to raise kids (nothing happens)... not a good place for artists.
  21. Welcome, make yourself at home!
  22. I would just stick with about a 1/4 cup. Maybe a teaspoon a piece. If it's been oiled all it's life (with the exception of a few years, which shouldn't matter) than that should suffice.
  23. How A Hammond Works
  24. And to answer your other question, over-oiling ain't good. Number one, the oil can leak out all over everything and number two, it can gunk stuff up if there's too much there and you get changes in temperature (ie, tubes warming up, motors warming up, etc.) I'd say 1/4 of a cup should be fine. It doesn't take much.
