  3. Chris, happy belated birthday! Sounds like you had a great one! Thanks for the bidness advice you gave me! Ok, now that you have settled in and all that no more excuses...get a real car!
  4. Isn't that the Army slogan?
  5. If there is a store in a mall near you, you might find some interesting cds for $3.99($3.59 with their expensive discount card) The usually put them in a red cardboard dump near the front of the store. Found a few Black Lion cds, Buddy Tate-Jumping on the West Coast. Walter Bishop-Milestones. Howard McGhee-Sharp Edge. Not a whole lot of jazz, but a little of everything. They seem to have bought a fair bit of International Sony, EMI cds. Tony Bennett Best of 2 cd set, A Stevie Wonder 2 cd best of(already sold it, forget what label) Michael Feinstein Anthology, Lou Reed 2 cd set, all for $4! Also, some Sequel/Westside obsurities. Dave "baby" Cortz, Best of Flip records, etc...Oh, and for some reason, 2 stores had the Gene Krupa/Harry James Box sets for $79!(Grabbed both, one to keep, one to sell much later on!) I never see retailers put the cool bargain stuff on the web, which is too bad, I guess since it all ends up with generic bar codes, and sells cheap, not worth the effort. so check 'em out!
  6. Brownie, hope you have a great one! have a great dinner, and listen to some great jazz!!!!!
  7. Glad to hear he was gay, and not dead...which is what I thought when I was on General Discussion Subforums
  8. Evan, glad to here you are ok as well! I couldn't believe how hard the wind was blowing on the other side of the state, and the black side of the eye was worse than the front!!!! I also wonder why it has also become a non story, at least on TV.....
  9. No dumbass, it was 11 out of 12!
  10. And I just, I mean just finished reading a review of "the Weatherman" which not once, but twice mentions...well, you know... The movie often feels overly pleased with itself: A brief flash of Shelly's pants-fitting problem is followed by a shot of an actual camel's foot, to make sure we get the point. http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/review/200...28/weather_man/
  11. Janis'daughter?
  12. Thanks guys! Sounds like one to get!
  13. Wonder if they had Jeff Kent and Carlos Beltran, how different this series would have been. Perhaps they should trade to get them back!
  14. Oh, in one of the many great moves made by the Braves, they traded Jermaine Dye after one season.... We're just not crazy about clutch hitters....
  15. I really, really, really wanted to see the Astros win one...just one damn game! Has a team ever gone longer without scoring in the world series? Must be some team shut out back to back or something, but damn.... Anyway, not to take ANYTHING from the White Sox! No more curse! They won I think 16 of 17 games in the playoffs...unbelievable!!!! Who'd a thunk it???? Shoeless Joe can now leave purgatory, and enter Heaven!
  16. Most fans will have the music, but check out the review, the DVD makes it sound worthwile... http://www.yourmusic.com/browse/album/Bill...-DVD-76964.html
  17. you know, it's swell that after he realised he would be executed(Eventually) that he decided to write children's books, and say violence was bad...but...he killed 4 people(I know, like every famous convicted murderer, he is innocent) even from the discription from the liberal site above makes it sound pretty horrible... The first victim in the killings, which took place during two separate robberies two weeks apart, was a 23-year-old convenience store worker. A witnessed who received immunity from prosecution testified at trial that he, Williams and two other men took 120 dollars from the store's cash register before Williams shot the young man execution-style and mocked the gurgling sounds the victim made as he lay dying. Williams was also found guilty of the shotgun murders of a family of three people in a Los Angeles motel. Wonder how the victims family are doing these days. Funny how no one cares about them. Their tax dollars keep him alive, feed him, provide medical care...did the profits from the children's books go to his victims??? Or for his legal bills? Williams should be a man, admit his guilt, and make peace with his maker.
  18. I don't think that's a girl..... ← Thats what I thought, but without sound, I wasn't sure.
  19. You wish it was game 2! I don't get the dome thing either. Next time there is a game in the Homerdome, make the twin's fans be quiet, and no white hankies!
  20. My speakers still aren't working, but the visuals alone tell me it is the worst! http://gorillamask.net/halftime.shtml
  21. What's so funny, is my Dad's friend is a no nonsense psychologist, (read, not much of a sense of humor) so for him to pass it along, I just was sure it was legit, like googling your phone number. The site gives a few hints that it might not be for real before you punch in your info..But I missed it!
  22. A good friend of my Dad sent this email, just removed mine! This is upsetting and i thought i should pass it along. Now you can see anyone's drivers licence online including your own! I just searched for mine and there it was! Go to the website and check it out. Just enter your name city and state to see if yours is on file. After your DL comes online, check the box marked "remove." This will remove it from public viewing, but not form law enforecment which accesses thru a different portal. Click the ff URL or copy and paste into your browser search line www.license.shorturl.com/
  23. Honest, the way the headline reads! Is Infinity Ready To Jack Howard Stern Off More Stations? October 24, 2005 Another round of Jack-FM stations could be installed by Infinity Broadcasting tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., according to a statement made by Howard Stern on his syndicated morning program today. "Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m., during our show, there will be a few small markets that we are presently on that will switch to the Jack-FM format and take us off the air," said Stern, who was not pleased with the prospect. "I guess it's the F.U. to Howard," he added. Later in the program, WXRK/New York GM Tom Chiusano was discussing the rumor with Stern and insinuated that the flips might be a Stern/Jack-FM combo. Where might The King Of All Media feel Jack-FM's boot? Looking down the list of his remaining Infinity affiliates, there are a few markets that lack a Jack-FM style station and are potential targets, but don't necessarily fit the "small market" criteria that Stern suggested. Among the stations are WMFS/Memphis, WNCX/Cleveland, WRKZ/Pittsburgh, WPBZ/West Palm Beach, and WOCL/Orlando. WJFK/Washington, D.C. is another option, but it is one of the rumored "Free FM" stations and The Washington Post is reporting that The Junkies -- John "Cakes" Auville, Eric Bickel, Jason Bishop and J.P. Flaim -- will be taking over for Stern after his departure. The Junkies currently occupy the timeslot on WJFK that follows Stern. If Infinity decides to flip a Stern station in a market where a Jack-style station already exists, other targets could be WZNE/Rochester (where Entercom's WFKL "Fickle" is filling the Jack-FM space) and KUFO/Portland (where Entercom's KYCH "Charlie" is filling the Jack-FM space). A reflective and sentimental tone has been creeping into Stern's program recently and the prospects of being Jack-ed off a few more radio stations prompted a mini-farewell speech. "For those of you who listen to us and won't be hearing us tomorrow, I want to say farewell," said Stern. "I want to tell you it has been a spectacular 20 years here with the company. I'm not leaving radio, I'm going to a whole new form of radio. I do not want you to think ever that I don't appreciate your support and your sticking with me through all the FCC stuff and everything the religious right is doing to us. My intention in all of this has always been to entertain you." http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=137056
  24. I do (reporter, not a civilian) - but then, I'm a terrible person. When I was watching the Katrina coverage at the office I told someone, "I'm not leaving until this reporter gets smacked in the face with something." A few minutes later, he got a plastic bag or something wrapped around his face. We all laughed and laughed... A week later our company closed its doors and we were all out of work. Karma. ← I didn't know if I should laugh or cry at your post, so I did both...I hope you are happy!
