  1. PM on Three Sounds, "Good Deal" (Blue Note/TOCJ-4020) obi Three Sounds, "Moods" (Blue Note/TOCJ-4044) obi
  2. I got them as a gift for Xmas and I have to say they are very impressive. I used them on a recent flight to Europe and they really did a nice job of canceling out engine noise and the audio quality is excellent. The price tag is steep but they are clearly superior to other headphones out there. It's tough for me to say this - normally I love to bash Bose!
  3. For what it's worth, Tower is now listing the release date on this box as 10/25.
  4. Here it is at J&R Music World: http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4052753 List of $109.98, pre-sale price of $84.99. I just pre-ordered at CD Universe.
  5. Good point Use3D, i was going to suggest that those who have access to Linux rip the CDs there. All these copy protection schemes don't work there.
  6. Kevin, Thanks as always for the info. I am definitely excited about more Hill and McLean material coming available. - Tom
  7. Kevin, Thanks for the info. I don't have a lot of these, so of course I think this is a great list. In particular, I'm excited about the Hutcherson and Hill. I'd love to see Total Eclipse RVGed at some point as well.
  8. Because YourMusic.com is a BMG Music initiative, I suspect that it will be the same as any of the box sets available via the club. I got the Jack Johnson set via BMG and it was exactly the same as what was available in the store (metal spine).
  9. Tony, I would go for Wowee Zowee. It's a bit "messy" and all over the place, but on the whole, it's a much more exciting listen than either Terror Twilight or BTC. If I had to choose between BTC and TT, I would actually pick the former. I think that Pavement was getting a bit -- dare i say -- formulaic by the time of those albums.
  10. I'm biased towards Hutcherson, but I think: BOBBY HUTCHERSON-SAN FRANCISCO is among the top albums on the list.
  11. Why do you say that? What does eMusic add over iTunes?
  12. I emailed Blue Note about this very concept -- putting OOP albums up on iTunes. I got the response: "We are working on this right now!" Take it for what it's worth.
  13. Claude, I couldn't agree more. These releases are steady and solid but there are no surprises either.
  14. i would go for the Complete Dial and Savoy Master Takes. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...=music&n=507846
  15. I'm glad I read this thread but I also noticed the distortion throughout the second session. There isn't really an isolated incident. It occurs all over the horns in the left channel. I am definitely curious to know whether this was recorded too hot or the mastering was poor.
  16. I picked up "Nashville Skyline" and "Another Side.." on Tuesday. To my ears (and I'm only listening to the standard CD format), there isn't a *massive* sound upgrade. The sound is nice but there are no surprises. Not only that, I feel like the packaging is really weak. For such a major reissue program, couldn't Sony splurge for some decent liner notes (e.g. the Byrds reissues)?
  17. Nice suggestion on the Capresso; I have the Capresso MT500 and I couldn't be happier. It uses a thermal carafe and makes outstanding coffee. Definitely recommended (by a total coffee addict).
  18. Paris, To answer your question, yes, Joe Goldberg's original liner notes are included in the "no room for squares" RVG.
  19. Virgin Megastore in NYC didn't have either the Blakey or the Gordon in stock. Upon questioning, a clerk claimed that they weren't aware that these CDs were even released! So I walked over to Barnes and Noble and picked both up there!
