A new one by Mira Melford ('s trio).
Guess I'll just post the review since it sums it up pretty nicely: https://www.freejazzblog.org/2025/08/myra-melford-splash-intakt-2025.html
Increasingly, I find myself liking large portions of Intakt's output. This one is not an exception. Free yet quite "bouncy", as the reviewer puts it.
Thank you for this!

I've been listening to this the past few days, on repeat. (the studio disc).
I guess that, for me, it hits the sweet spot between "free" and "groovy", which is what I tend to like most.
Any recommendations along the same lines? With or without the involvement of Ken Vandermark, recent or not.

LOVE, love, love this album.
Free jazz for the feet, not just the head.
Highly anticipated so this is not exactly a BREAKING NEWS post, just wanted to second it.
Is anyone intrigued by the latest Painkiller album? I quite liked the original stuff but I don't know whether this is just a nostalgia play or a legitimately good set.

Anything in particular you'd recommend? I'm still partial to the latest one...although I do get the criticism about it being quite basic. I don't know, sometimes I like stuff like that. A palate cleanser, maybe? (wasn't my interpretation of it the first time around but that could be the explanation, in hindsight)

Darius Jones - Legend of e'Boi
Think I saw this mentioned on the FreeJazz blog. I've been enjoying it on repeat for the past few days.

Latest one by Barry Guy. Did anyone listen to it yet? In the comments section they are clamouring for a 5-stars rating.
Just wanted to second all the [Ahmed] hype, it's truly gorgeous music. It swings and hits you and yet it remains quite experimental in nature.
Bought the digital download which is quite reasonably priced (you are getting 5 cds's worth of music in FLAC format so, with a decent DAC, you get the same experience you'd have with the box set; ok, minus the physical pleasure of owning it).
