Just wanted to let people know I just picked up 3-Sided Audio Dream on Collectables and this also has 2 seconds of silence between tracks that run together. DO NOT BUY THESE!!!

I've seen it at Borders. Amazon or Half.com should have it if you don't mind used.

As sure as someone who has both versions can be. The reviewer obviously didn't listen to it and took the info from somewhere else, or just made it up. Here's the times on the Water reissue: 1. Roots (4:12) 2. Here Comes The Whistleman (5:42) (spoken intro before this song which starts it's countdown at about -1:38 or so) 3. I Wished On The Moon (6:02) (another spoken intro before this song, not as long as previous, I forget the timing, but starts in the negative numbers) 4. Making Love After Hours (4:22) 5. Yesterdays (4:08) 6. Aluminum Baby (6:12) 7. Step Right Up (4:48) The total time of the M reissue & the Water reissue are 1 second apart. Check your own track 6 & 7 for the times. I don't know where they came up with the two 4:41 times, but the whistleman track could've been a dislexic mistake, but the bonus track times match up with track 6 & 7. A lot of CD have incorrect timings printed on them. How, don't know. That always amazes me. Especially if that was the first cd issue and lots of albums had wrong timings and weren't fixed until cds came along.

Well, I can straighten this whole thing out now. I have the Water reissue & the M reissue. There are NO BONUS TRACKS! What happened is the M label numbering of tracks doesn't match up with the cd because 2 tracks are just between song chatter IDed as tracks. l p is right with the titles of the "extra tracks". The Water reissue put the chatter as countdowns to the next track instead so the track numbering matches up. Oh well...

I bought a used copy of Max Roach's Speak Brother Speak for like $10 total, and it's signed by Max Roach. He drew a small drumset with MR on the bass drum. The date he wrote is 4/22/94. I emailed the seller to ask if he knew what he sold me, but he didn't respond. Oh well.

Is the 32 jazz release (Aces Back To Back) like an actual box set, or is it just the indiviual discs put together in a box?

Does anyone have this? Mine has 2 seconds of silence between tracks, while fine for a studio album, half of this is live. I called the label & they said that's how the Atlantic master was sent to them. I just want to check if that's true.

John B - yes & no as he's the only original member, but he puts out actual solo albums as much as GBV albums. Eric - I think his solo stuff sounds like GBV of past glories, but sounds like a continuation of that which is great! The current GBV since 1999 and having been on a major label (TVT), I think Pollard was trying to write in a way that wasn't him. That's why he does solo albums and, to me, they remind me more of GBV that the current GBV. Pollard has a new album coming out in May called Fiction Man. If you want to know what albums to get, let me know, I've got 'em all.

To me it's a future investment. If it turns out I don't like a particular cd(s) after the newnest has worn off, I'll trade it towards whoever I'm buying at that time. In Your Ear in Providence was very fair.

I think Paul is correct too as (1) I would think they'd split the two 9 minute songs on each side for balance time-wise (on the box they're one after the other), & (2) after looking at the site again, the guy maybe couldn't find that album, so took the track sequence from the box set because all of the others are right (i.e. don't match the box).

Thanks for the discography. I was just about to post again on two more albums, but everything's o.k. Although the Tubby Hayes track listing is different from the one given by Paul. This one is the same as the box. I wonder which is the correct one? Thanks again coudub-ya.

I've got that, thanks, but that site & most I've found, including the link you have, list the sequence of songs as on the box set, not the actual album. I've got the Hayes one, but now need Kirk's Reeds & Deeds and The Benny Golson one.
