  1. Does anyone know why Ornette hasn't put out an album since 1997?
  2. Well, I have Freedom Now & Percussion Bittersweet. I like them both a lot. It's interesting to hear what a drummer writes so I was wondering about his sessions as a leader as I like his songwriting so far. As a guess, I think I'm looking for stuff during his black power 1960's period. Very powerful stuff.
  3. Anyone know where I can find a discography that focuses on his sessions as a leader? Thanks.
  4. I can't seem to get to the coupon. Can anyone help?
  5. It would be odd, with all the remasters, that they haven't done them. I haven't read anything about them being remastered either.
  6. Have Agharta & Pangea been remastered?
  7. Does anyone here have the following vhs: Rashaad Roland Kirk: Sound? Please PM.
  8. No, the Jack Johnson box is as far as they're going.
  9. Is Agharta & Pangaea better than Dark Magus?
  10. I just found out yesterday about The Kids Are Alright. I'm more excited by that!!! I need an opinion: what's one of the best live Miles albums between 1973-75?
  11. Amazing how on another thread everyone is jazzed up about it, but here, meh. I'll buy it, but I was hoping it was more songs rather than different versions of a bunch of songs. Is anyone looking forward to the last box; Seven Steps To Berlin? It's mostly the live albums of 1963-64.
  12. Thank you couw!
  13. Can anyone provide a link to the cover for Ornette's Who's crazy? JSngry is good at this. Thanks.
  14. I am that great guy of which impossible speaks! He's the one who turned me onto Dolphy with a mix cd. As I plan to get all the songs on it, and if impossible's feelings aren't hurt, I'll gladly pass this cd on to anyone curious. PM me with your address. I myself got the Prestige set (can't go wrong, squire), George Russell's Ezz-thetics and Candid Dolphy. Expecting Blue Note's Other Aspects any day now. It seems to be a hodge podge of stuff as is Candid Dolphy, but that's not a bad thing. HEY IMPOSSIBLE, do you have something called Unrealized Tapes? It's supposedly his most recent last date (6/11/64) & At The Gaslight Inn?
  15. I'm looking to do a trade for a copy of this. Please PM. Thanks.
  16. I noticed that the announcements that are listed on the album aren't there too. I know about the foot taping as Mingus writes about that in the notes for the album. It's the flute in Meditations and the louder passages in that song. My cd says K2 mastering, but I figured anybody would catch this very noticable distortion.
  17. Does anyone have this? Mine's a Japanese import and I'm surprised by how much distortion is on it, particularly on Meditations.
  18. Jazz: in order of appearence: Coltrane, Miles, Ornette, Monk, Bird, Mingus. with upcoming appearences by: Dolphy, Kirk & Blakey. Rock: what I've never gotten rid of: The Beatles, The Who, Husker Du, Guided By Voices, The Ramones, Syd Barrett (solo & with Pink Floyd). Honorable mention: The Rolling Stones, Kiss (original make-up years), Sonic Youth.
  19. Read the book inside. It said they wanted to keep them all consistent. Why I don't know, but yes it's superimposed. The first two years it was The Rocky Show. They also used the second season opening and closing since it was Jay Ward's favorite. If you notice the ending, the credit (usually) reads 1960 Jay Ward. The first season was in 1959 (which is shown at the beginning of Peabody & Sherman). Which also leads to the first jazz reference in the show. Peabody & Sherman & The James Gang. After thrwarting them during a robbery attempt, one of the James brothers blows a trumpet and they ride out of town. Sherman asks what his name is and Peabody says: "That's Harry" Sherman: "I've never heard of him." Peabody: "You mean you've never heard of Harry James?"
  20. Could somebody list what albums make up this box set? Thanks.
  21. 26 episodes on 4 dvds.
  22. Jazzmoose-there's 5 seasons.
  23. I'm wrong. Dudley Do-Right is on the first season. The animation seems to get a bit cleaner from disc 1 to disc 2. I haven't check out the extras yet.
  24. I love this hoax, but this guy is too far into it. Paul is dead
  25. First season is more subdued in the voices. Not as animated (no pun) as later or as quick with the jokes though they are there. I've only watched the first disc so far. I believe there are only two stories in the first season: Jet Fuel Formula & one about boxtops. I don't think Dudley Do-Right is in this season even though his face is on the spine. Have seen some episodes I've never seen because on TV they never showed them in order meaning they'd skip a show and it was impossible to tape them. Along with The Simpsons & Family Guy, these are my favorite shows, all animated. What that says about me I don't know. Though if you took away the alcohol, Homer & Peter Griffin from Family Guy are just like Bullwinkle, stupid and funny.
