  1. Does anyone have a song called "Abstractions"? It's from an album called Jazzical Moods (I think). The session was in December 1954. Looking for a cdr of that song. I have a version of that album under a different name but without that song. Thanks.
  2. Nope, not The Puddle, just Puddle. I actually owned the trademark for that name in the 90's even though there were a few bands named Puddle. Makes me wonder if Puddle Of Mudd were going to call themselves Puddle but saw it was already trademarked. I might've made a crappy band amend their name!
  3. In case anyone's wondering what that gibberish is, instead of typing "up" , I'll just run my hand over the keyboard. I used to do it on BNBB.
  4. , now I get it. Thanks. I wasn't reading it right. At least I didn't ask about the pun behind Mingus Dynasty.
  5. Thanks, but I'm still unclear on it. Is he indentifying himself as female & neuter (does neuter means both or neither?)
  6. First part=first name. Second part are the years in the 90's that the band I started , called Puddle (rock band; influenced by Husker Du (one of my all time favorites), The Ramones with some Sonic Youth for good measure) were together. 11 releases inside of 7 years.
  7. I just order Freedom Now from Candid in England a few weeks ago. $17.99 shipping included. Also ordered Mingus: Reincarnation Of A Lovebird & Mysterious Blues for $13.99 each.
  8. I wanted to know what people thought of Mingus's 1970's albums. Let My Children Hear Music Mingus Moves Live At Carnegie Hall Changes One Changes Two Cumbia Jazz & Fusion Three Or Four Shades Of Blues Me, Myself & Eye Something Like A Bird
  9. Jackie McLean should name his next one Jackie-ing Off.
  10. When are we going to get Other Voices & Full Circle on CD?
  11. Looking for a few things of Mingus. Please PM.
  12. P.D., I do the EXACT same thing and feel the same way you do about this. I'm still mystified why Columbia is putting out Miles Davis's box #3 last. With the Blackhawk stuff just out, it allowed me to get through Quiet Nights (1962) and now I have to wait at the very least until, my guess, close to Xmas 2004.
  13. Who'da thunk it! Us girlfriendless geek in our teens will live to be the oldest of our generation! The meek DO inherit the earth! I don't even need health insurence.
  14. Although I like Carnegie more, I agree with wondering what the hell was going on with his louder passeges. It is pretty bad, and the piano is pretty low, but in regard to playing, it's more lively as JSngry said; a special show compared to a club date, I can understand the difference in playing. Though on the new Blackhawk set, I can hardly hear the bass. BTW, anyone have any info on box #3, Seven Steps To Berlin? This'll be mostly live stuff right? All the same songs again?
  15. So I listened to Blackhawk then Carngie Hall after that. I like Carnegie more. Miles's playing is more lively. And you???
  16. I'm a fan, but found out I don't like everything he's done (complete Debut box, that was a pricey mistake for me). So before I buy it, I ask for opinions on it.
  17. It's listed at cd universe for $17.99, I think, but has been on back order since March. I was looking around for a price like that if possible. Someone has it at Half.com for $30.
  18. The Simpsons is coming out in August last I saw on Amazon. Looking forward to the second set of Family Guy. I wish it was still on aside from reruns on Cartoon Network.
  19. Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of this? This is the one on Sue Mingus's Revenge label. Thanks.
