Very cool! What was his name? Where is the organ?
My only musical claim to fame ancestor-wise is that I am a direct descendant of a bandmaster who served in the Union Army during the Civil War. No joke, his name was George Washington Rutter. He was from Uniontown, PA -- where I was born -- and he served in the 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery, 10th Regiment. After the war, he returned to Uniontown and led the town brass band. It was called "Rutter's Band." I've even seen a photo of the band, taken in the 1880s.
