  2. So banks are like hookers then, right? What business isn't?
  3. Can't get hold of my parents in Boynton Beach. The phone lines must be dead. Martyjazz is there too.
  4. are safe... Some of you probably don't have any electricity or telephone capabilities right now...
  5. maybe not. Damned good comparison...
  6. typical Chuckster indiscretion... Hey, I'm not defending banks, and I'm not a "banker" by the way, but you do get a service in exchange for the fees and stuff. These guys just honestly rip you off, and it's not honest. It's highly dishonest. They don't admit to begging, which is exactly what they're doing.
  7. I scrolled through that list of Muse issues...WOW!! There's a lot there that I'd like to hear. I thought I had a lot of their stuff through 32jazz, but there's a ton there...
  8. I got approached a couple of times while waiting in the drive-thru line at a fast food restaurant. This guy walks up to my window and gives this story about running out of gas and could I spare a few $ so he could get some gas. I gave him a couple of bucks, but got suspicious when I got hit with the same story at several other places. In one case, after turning a fellow down, he marched across the street to hit someone else. It's a scam.
  9. sent pm regarding trompeta...
  10. This one's on my want list as well, but I'm not spending the coin right away. Will find it cheaper later on, as Rooster says, in used condition.
  11. I'd toss that JRVG up on the block and get some big bux for it and then pick up the Conn. cause anything has got to sound better than that POS-pillow over your ears-JRVG. (I know the TOCJ does big time) Interesting... I'll give it another listen first. I am very partial to the JRVG sound.
  12. It's yours, Tom! Thanks, Paul
  13. And I'll be disappointed if the Hill doesn't come with Couw's cover...
  14. I'm only buying the Larry Young, Andrew Hill, and Sam Rivers. I'll pass on the Silver and the Hutcherson. Got the Jack Wilson on JRVG, which is good enough for me!
  15. this is starting to get buried in the thread. $34 postage paid to a North American address...
  16. always been the same name. Started it on the Blue Note site to reflect my love for the BN product.
  17. My next door neighbor in Thailand drank his own. I wasn't about to loan him any of my own--too valuable to give away... He said it tasted a little like blood...
  18. Is this your scientific mind at work, J.L.?
  19. Damn, it's definitely going over Abaco Island in the Bahamas. I lived there for three years as a kid... Poor little island; nothing much there anyway. Hope the Hopetown lighthouse holds up...
  20. The guy will probably outlive everyone... and die with black hair...
  21. I knew an Irishman once during my years in Bangkok, who drank his own urine. He said he did it for health reasons... He lived in the nextdoor apartment and my wife and I used to snicker as he stood in the doorway with his daily drink...
  22. Durn! I'm sick of all this dandruff... I'm gonna start drinking urine!!
