  1. I suppose so, but I can still watch football without cringing. Boxing seems so brutal. I mean, you're not taking all these headshots in football as you do in boxing. Football is hard on your limbs, that's for sure. Personally, I could take reduced mobility in exchange for big $$. Wouldn't do it for brain damage however. That's the difference to me.
  2. The Evans is being sent to Europe... Only Jackie Mac remains...
  3. There are quite a few exceptions to this rule. But, make no mistake, it is the rule. That said... Rocky Marciano (the heavyweight) Rocky Grazziano (the middleweight) (sp?) Sugar Ray Leonard Sugar Ray Robinson Joe Frazier and quite a few others. Unfortunately, for every one of them, there's a hundred Ali's. His has to be the saddest story of all... And God Bless them all, JazzyP. Rocky Graziano and Joe Frazier didn't have any brains to addle... They were both punchdrunk even before starting a fight career.
  4. Now here in a nutshell is the sad and evil side of boxing. Mike Tyson is now in the realm of the fighter-past-his-prime; and is getting closer to the category of totally-washed-up. Fans of the game who hated and feared him in his prime will now take a sympathetic stance. They will "admire" his courage and will as he begins to take more punches and lose fights. The fighter doesn't retire. He doesn't retire because it's like selling drugs. The money is too damned good to quit; and who will go out and get a regular job and work for peanuts? Basically, all great fighters are destined to stay in the game until they get punch drunk. It's an evil sport, fellahs....
  5. Same sentiments here... Happy B-day all...
  6. I have a Kirk @ Scott's private recordng. Don't know if it's the same one or not. Well, is it the same session? Cmon Jim, you know everything...
  7. MAJOR fan here, dude. You DO have EXTENSIONS OF A MAN. domn't you? errrr, no.... We'll save that one for the next order from the bastards.
  8. Another question: When ordering from the bastards, do you guys tend to use media mail or priority? This time, I paid the extra buck for priority. Would like to get the cds this weekend! B)
  9. Does anybody have that session? Sangry?
  10. Just ordered: Donnie Hathaway, "Live" Roland Kirk, "Live in London, 1964" Roy Brooks, "Beat" Jack McDuff, "Moonrapper" (I can't vouch for the exact titles, but I think that's it!)
  11. Bill Evans Trio, "Live in Buenos Aires 1979" (w/ Marc Johnson & Joe LaBarbera) Westwind European import. Tricky to find, I believe. 2 cds. $18 shipping included. Also: Jackie Mclean, "Jacknife" with sawcut on jewel case. Excellent shape otherwise. $10 shipping included. cash or checks accepted. Got to pass on the snake hides...sorry!
  12. That sucks, SS1. Time to move States. Ever thought of the Ohio/Michigan area? You can be closer to your beloved Brownies...
  13. The guy is absolutely amazing. The circuits in his brain are so quick-reacting. It's great to be that young and quick again... I used to know everything at 30. Remembered every word I ever read! He's about the only guy who would beat me in jeopardy! B)
  14. Very helpful, Mike. No entries for Dearborn nor Ann Arbor on it, but you certainly have to respect the work he did in compiling the list. It's a start, but we at Organissimo could add quite a bit.
  15. Someone should jump on "Here Tis." That's a good record. Where's Undergroundagent?
  16. Better be your slants of light and not mine!
  17. Here are the places I know: Toledo, OH: nothing! Ann Arbor, MI: Encore on Liberty Street is excellent. Wazoo is also good on State Street. Dearborn, MI: Dearborn Music is great! Not as great selection as in Ann Arbor, but there's always something great there. Location is on Michigan Ave. There is apparently another store in Canton, but I've never been there. Ypsilanti, MI: nothing! Bowling Green, OH: Finder's has some selection. It's located in Main Street, downtown.
  18. Happy Birthday to an all-around good guy!
