I've just made my second donation this year, particularly for the maintenance of the live chat feature. I can say for sure that the usual live chat crowd more than covered the $75 when Jim first brought up the extra costs last January/February. I haven't had any income for over a year and have gone back to school. I can't even borrow enough money to get me through school, but I can still find a way to donate a few bucks. Everyone can; and Jim should not be left with the tab to pay. -

I voted for the annual drive. So far, 45 members have voted for paying some money. I think this gives us some idea of the number of people who would regularly contribute. There may be a few others there who have not bothered to vote, but they would pay some dollars as well. Perhaps at this stage, the right kind of poll would be a simple...would you pay some $ each year to keep this forum alive? Yes? or No? After we see the numbers, then we could get an idea as to how much on average each individual needs to pay. Obviously, some of us are better off than others. Just pay as you can. I've been unemployed for a year and I've gone back to school on borrowed funds. At the same time, I'll find a way to contribute. Everyone can. It doesn't have to be much. Just pay as your circumstances allow. -

Hey, Conn........there is something called "Chats" in Google if you have a GMail account. We should look into how that works. Is there a place somewhere in Google for a bunch of dicks? Note to Free: yeah, I read that about the Pats. Not funny. -

Oops! Just noticed this thread. I started a thread about this in another section of the forum. Wherever we go, there's got to be a live chat function! I can't fully annoy others unless it's "live!" -

Well... I knew it would happen one day. I don't see how it is possible for one person to monitor and pay for a message board the size of this one. I was just hoping that it would be later rather than sooner. We were forced from the BNBB, so this isn't a new experience for many of us. We just have to find another place to congregate. Let's post some serious ideas here. I'm LOST without "Live chat." I need a way to continue to hang with my buds. We all need to extend to Jim our heartfelt thanks for having kept this board going for as long as it has. I suspect that most of us lack the money to cover those monthly charges, so keeping the board going seems an unlikely prospect. Patriots football forum has a live chat function but the mods are major ass-retentive dicks about stuff. Catesta wouldn't last five minutes!

Brady claimed in the postgame press conference (I saw it on NFLN) that he knew the timeout had been called when the play started. Don't really know if he was serious or not. The reporter then asked him what would have happened if a time out had not been called. His response: "We would have gotten a first down!" My take: sure it was lucky. Lots of luck make up a football game. In the end, good times find a way to win; bad teams implode once they have the game in hand. Aloc and I will be sweating when our teams line up against each other this Sunday. I dislike the Steelers but I respect them. And I even might be able to stand them just because they're Aloc's team. -

Several posters on the Patriots chatboard said that even if they hadn't ruled the catch a TD, the Pats would have been first and goal at the 2 yard line based on the Baltimore Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalties. Pats likely would have punched it in from there with a full set of downs. edit: plus they would have used up most of the remaining :44 in doing so. The Ravens would have had no time to attempt a comeback. -

Pats had a bad game--offense, defense, Brady, all the receivers and their dropped balls... Still, they find a way to win the game. Baltimore was mugging the receivers all game. It was only a matter of time before they would get flagged. It was a close call on Gaff's TD. His feet were in but it looked like he was shifting the ball from one hand to another. I don't know if they'll finish the season undefeated. They haven't played well over the last two games. Still, these tough games are good for them. Good teams like the Pats find a way to win. Bad teams like the Ravens find a way to lose. -

Here's an update. Looks like Mr. Whitlock's comments don't fit the Taylor incident...well maybe they do a little. Police: 4 Arrested in Taylor's Slaying By LISA ORKIN EMMANUEL Associated Press Writer MIAMI — The Miami-Dade Police Department arrested four people Friday and charged them with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor. Police spokeswoman Linda O'Brien identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. Taylor died Tuesday, one day after being shot at his home in an affluent Miami suburb during what officials said appeared to be an attempted burglary. The suspects weren't expecting Taylor to be home, police director Robert Parker said, but Taylor was recuperating from a knee injury and had returned to Miami from Washington. "They were certainly not looking to go there and kill anyone," Parker said. He added authorities had more than one confession but would not elaborate. "We're looking into whether or not one or more of the individuals had been at the residence before," Parker said. The Miami Herald reported investigators believe the men learned of Taylor's house through someone who unwittingly set up the burglary by bragging about Taylor's wealth. Taylor and longtime girlfriend, Jackie Garcia, were awakened early Monday by loud noises at Taylor's home, family friend Richard Sharpstein said. Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection, Sharpstein said, then someone broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor in the upper leg. Neither the couple's 18-month-old daughter, also named Jackie, nor Garcia were injured. The bullet damaged the femoral artery in Taylor's leg, causing significant blood loss. Taylor never regained consciousness and died a little more than 24 hours later. A public viewing for Taylor is scheduled Sunday in Miami, and the entire Redskins organization plans to fly to Florida to attend Monday's funeral at Pharmed Arena at Florida International University. The Redskins also announced that fans attending the team's Sunday game will receive a towel with Taylor's No.21 jersey on it and that his name will be displayed prominently in one of the end zones. Team owner Dan Snyder said in a statement the team will contribute a minimum of $500,000 to a fund to benefit Taylor's daughter. It's the same article... Very little has been changed...

Dallas is dominating the ballgame so far, and Favre is spraying the ball all over the field with little inaccuracy. I tell you what...Cowboy are scary good. As a Pats fan, I want no part of this team. I have little doubt that we'll run into them again in the Super Bowl. They are easily the second best team in the league, and they have the weapons to upset the Patriots, if they don't bring their "A" game. As a mitigating factor, the Cowboys have been fortunate that their big games (Packers, Patriots) were scheduled at home. It's an advantage. The crowd is LOUD! Oops! As I type, Ryan Grant has just broken through on a long run for a touchdown. Cowboys: 13 Packers 10. -
