  1. It aint over yet! Here are Week 16 Results: Noj 9-7 Conn 11-5 Van B. 10-6 Year to date: Noj 169-87 Conn 167-89 Van B. 160-96 Picked up a couple of games on Nojjy, who decided to do a Tony Dungy and rest all his players for the playoffs. Playoff picks still to come, and they don't look very easy.
  2. No need for such pessimism Al. There were quite a few teams who looked like they just packed it in: Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis. Shame on Dungy and his team for playing with a skeleton team: he gets a week off anyway with the bye. I don't know: I prefer Bill Belichick's way of playing every game for the win. People pay hard earned money to watch these teams on the field. Kudos to Tom Coughlin for playing to beat the Patriots. His team will go into the playoffs sharper than some others. I can understand Pittsburgh and Jacksonville and Tampa Bay packing it in because they have to play next week, but Indy and Dallas? Why?
  3. Think the Pats will be able to afford Moss after this year? I don't know enough about their cap situation to say one way or the other, but it seems questionable, especially if the club wins the Super Bowl. [Disclaimer: I don't know for sure that Moss signed a one-year contract, but have been under that impression.] Moss has a one year contract only. Fans and local media believe he'll stick around and sign a 3-4 year contract. Their cap situation is always solid, but they'll have to adjust or let go a player or two to accommodate Moss. Donte Stallworth, for example, is likely to be let go. Rosey Colvin and a couple of other players will have to restructure their contracts, as Colvin's leaps to $8 mil for 2008. Junior Seau is likely to retire. Not sure about Bruschi. Rodney shoud stick around for another year. Asante Samuel might want too much money, so he's likely to depart. He currently has a 1-year franchise tag for $7+ mil. If he gets a contract, it would be more cap friendly. The Pats can definitely pay Moss. The question is whether he'll take a small pay cut over his full value in exchange for staying with a winning team and terrific quarterback. If he does stay, he'll make a run at the receiver records.
  4. Let's make the call when Moss' career is done. I expect him to break all of Rice's records, especially if he stays in NE.
  5. Damn! Just came upon this now. Keep your chin up, bro! No wisdom to impart. It is what it is; life aint' done. Time ticks and the sun moves in the sky. We gotta move too. Changes abound for all of us. I'm of your generation and have been forced to go back to school for the next two years on borrowed money. It is what it is. Just accept it and make it happen. Sentiment might be there, but it can't hold us back. It is what it is. Let's make it work like we've always done.
  6. Kind words, Jim. I was on live chat during the second half and was telling Free that the second half distinguishes the good teams from the bad. Pats found a way in the second half. I guess they are favorites for the Super Bowl, but i'll be sweating every game along the way! It's a curse to be undefeated.
  7. Lots of tough matchups this weekend. My picks for Week 16: NE MIAMI PHILADELPHIA TAMPA BAY HOUSTON SEATTLE CHICAGO CLEVELAND GREEN BAY DENVER WASHINGTON PITTSBURGH ARIZONA SAN DIEGO NY JETS INDIANAPOLIS
  8. Happy Birthday Alex! Hope you are enjoying your time off.

  10. Week 15 results: Noj 12-4 Conn 11-5 Van B. 10-6 Year to date results: Noj 160-80 Conn 156-84 Van B. 150-90 Great week by Noj. Even with the playoffs still to come, his lead appears to be unassailable. Nice picking!
  11. Week 15 Full picks: PITTSBURGH DALLAS GREEN BAY CLEVELAND DETROIT NEW ENGLAND NEW ORLEANS NY GIANTS JACKSONVILLE MINNESOTA INDIANAPOLIS ARIZONA SEATTLE TENNESSEE TAMPA BAY SAN DIEGO
  12. I really like this cd. His voice is sincere and affecting in my opinion.
  13. Pretty much share Chuck's view.
  14. Picking Dallas tonight. Will work on my other picks for tomorrow.
  15. As long as we can drink beer and call each other names. The only way I'd show up.
  16. We likely misunderstand each other. I would love to hang with Organissimo posters. I would not love to listen to a bunch of prepared speeches and sales pitches. Perhaps I misunderstand what the "conference" is about? If you mean rent a conference room where everyone can hang then that's different. I guess I don't know what you mean.
  17. I'm not thrilled about the costs. It would cost money to go to Chicago to begin with, then we've got to shell out for a "boring" conference? I prefer to just hang somewhere. I'm a poor student right now. I am not opposed to Chicago as a venue.
  18. Bad news for the Steelers: RB Willie Parker fractured his ankle. He's done for the season.
  19. Cracking good game so far tonight on NFL Network. I hope I'm not the only one able to watch it. Rams are giving Steelers all they can handle so far.
  20. Tonight's pick: Pittsburgh (they can't lose three in a row, can they?)
  21. Well the Ca'boys had to sneak past the less-than-sterling Lions two weeks ago. Then they get whapped by Philly. I can't wait to see that jackass TO go sideways on Romo and blow up the team chemistry We can't deny that this is a possibility, but I wouldn't panic just yet. In all fairness, the Pats haven't looked like worlbeaters over the last 3-4 games either, though they did thump the Steelers. Successful teams sometimes go through mini-slumps.
  22. Especially when their 1st round draft pick [from the Niners] is going to the Jets. Is there a trade that I didn't hear about? Nope. It was all part of the NFL sanctions/fines levied against the Pats for filming the first Jets game, remember? Sheesh! I can tell you don't really follow the NFL. The Pats had to forfeit their own first rounder. They still have the SF pick.

  24. However, it is a great advantage to have your team's coach go to the Pro Bowl. Belichick coached the AFC team last year and bonded with Adalius Thomas, who eventually signed a contract to play with the team this offseason.
