  1. The guy (HUNG) said on a TV interview that he was a virgin and that he was saving himself till marriage. Then he said something like that he might change his mind if the right situation (girl) came along.
  2. I'm sure there's alot of cdrs floating around UC Berkeley too.
  3. Are you aware that the move to the Jazz & Vinyl Annex has meant that all of their jazz vinyl is now available to browse? Might be a reason to go back ... I remember the days at the main BLUE NOTE store, when Mosaic sets would be priced without premiums. Good for you, I'm not looking for jazz LPs any more. . There used to be another used record store near BLUE NOTE, I think it was called Record Liquidators? So the trip to BLUE NOTE was worth the trip.
  4. Who are you and how do you know about CD Collector? You better stay away from there if you know what's good for you!!! I've been going to that one (Sean Kayes, owner - terrific guy) and the more northern CD Collector location west of the Intercoastal on Atlantic Blvd, for quite a few years now. So there's a bit of competition for the wonderfully priced 2nd hand jazz CDs down here, Dan. No wonder I don't find any good jazz CDs when visit.
  5. This BORDERS is in Fort Lauderdale. (about 30 miles north of Miami) The used record/cd store is near Borders is NOT CD Collector. CD COLLECTOR is located on Altantic Blvd, further North in Pompano. (tiny used store that also alot of boots) You may get lucky and find an occasional gem, but I usually don't. (so Dan, you don't have to worry about me visiting the store) Course, if they have a BEAR FAMILY box set, I may be interested. ALL BOOKS AND RECORDS in Oakland Park (gone now), used to get Mosaic box sets. Dan, did you pickup that Maynard Ferguson Mosaic box? The ALL BOOKS AND RECORDS in Searstown, Fort Lauderdale, on Sunrise/Federal Highway has organized their music section. Now, LPs are very expensive. They have new/promo CDs for about $9. I don't see anything rare or HTF.
  6. I used this code to score some doubles: Bob Dylan, Blonde On Blonde (SACD Hybrid) (2 CD(s) Ornette Coleman, The Complete Science Fiction Sessions (Remastered) (2 CD(s) Marvin Gaye, What's Going On (Remastered/Deluxe Edition) (2 CD(s)) James Brown, Live At The Apollo Vol. II (Remastered- Deluxe Edition) (2 CD(s) Allman Brothers Band, The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East (Deluxe Edition) (2 CD(s) $5/ea or $49 for the whole lot. This deal works real nice on the double sets! The Allman Brothers set is a $30 list box. That's $12 with the discount, plus taxes. An enrollment deal would cost about $4.25/CD.
  7. New: Sarah McLachlan - AFTERGLOW
  8. 5000 CDs @ $10 = $50,000 25 years old? Do you have your own home too.
  9. "I never buy CDs" That seems to be the feeling of the current generation (15 - 25). I've hear that statement alot.
  10. Hey, that's better than my To get 50% off with no shipping and handling, enter promotion code "E4OD1" in the box on the left side of our homepage. Hurry! Offer expires 05/05/04.
  11. Michelle Shocked?
  12. ALREADY in the mark-down bin. I'm shocked. Shocked. The CD was 'used' not a cut-out or promo. But someone stole the DVD from the jewel case. (this store is pretty trusting, they don't lock up all the jewel cases or remove the discs)
  13. I think HUNG got $25K for the CD. Guess his label made a few bucks.

    Norah Jones

Just saw LOVE ACTUALLY. Norah Jones got a song of hers in another movie. (Turn Me On) Doesn't that make 4?
  15. Sam Rivers - OH YEAH!
  16. I saw his CD at a used store for $7. I buy it for $1. (supposedly, it comes with a DVD too)
  17. That didn't happen. Spurs put the D on the Lakers. One man team - Kobe. Shaq and Kobe needed more rest. Shaq doesn't have the legs to stand-up. What's with Malone's and Patton's shooting? Boy do they old compared to the SPURS. SPURS played 3 quarters. Lakers played 1 quarter. (3rd) Maybe I should root for a SWEEP.
  18. Lakers vs Spurs. Lets see, for the Lakers to win.... Malone gives Duncan an elbow to chin. Duncan goes down for 2 games. Maybe knocking out Parker would be better. Both are pests for the Lakers. Looks like Horry is making his outside shot, since he's well rested. Last year Horry had to play more minutes because FOX was out. (or was FOX out because of fighting?) I think his legs gave out, so his shot was off. Home court advandage SPURS. Spurs 4-2. Maybe Sacramento can beat the WOLVES and get lucky with the SPURS?
  19. Miles / John Coltrane (6) box will be re-issued 5/4/4. Same price for the Miles/Gil Evans (6) box. Deepdiscountcd.com sells it for $58.76
  20. Considering we all took advantage of Border's 50% off sale a couple of years ago. (at least I did, several times) I don't feel too bad that Borders is trying to crack down on shoplifting. At least Borders is still in business.
  21. If you steal, you must be a terrorist.
  22. Yes, you're correct. NO Tower Records in Florida. I would say Borders has a decent selection of jazz. Last time I was at the Virgin store, I wasn't too impressed. (haven't been back) Course, every so often, Virgin does have good CLEARANCE items. I think they had a big clearance sale at the end of the last year. Others on the board raved about some good deals the first day of the sale. I use to go to BLUE NOTE, their selection was pretty good. But since they moved the jazz section to a warehouse-like building, I haven't gone back.
  23. Yeah, Ebay is the way to go. Check their previous sales.
  24. Got a Amos Milburn Mosaic CD box set for $60 (last three CDs were sealed). Wasn't looking for it, was buying Waylon Jennings WILL THE WOLF SURVIVE (mca) $6. Searching for this country CD for a long time. (too expensive on ebay)
