Because baseball was better in the '70s. And let's not forget the sportsmanship of the late '80s either. (Most believe Boggs injury was phantom. They were in the playoffs for the first time since '75, so perhaps he was being careful.) Reyes set an excellent example for good math skills. Just like Willie Wilson... Well, looking back, the actual thing that I was agreeing with was his comments about baseball prostituting itself in the steroid era, so I can't argue there. I love it when people make a post criticizing a post criticizing something by criticizing the act of criticizing. Or something like that...

As mentioned before, I don't own a TV, so I listen to games on radio online. I just wanted to express my sincere sympathy to Indianapolis Colts fans who are apparently saddled with the absolute worst announcing duo in sports.

I used to think pro sports salaries were insane, but I'm not so sure anymore. Compare it to drug dealing-there are millions of dollars to be made, but if you take an honest look at what happens, the overwhelming majority of those involved in dealing illegal drugs make squat. They all want to make it to the top, but only a very few will. Same thing in pro sports. Those at the top are making not only their own salary, but the salary of all the wannabes that never make it. The worst firefighter in the country still makes a living wage, so there's not as much for the best.
