  1. The novelty is lost on me.
  2. Have you looked outside? I'm getting ready to head out and check on the trucks. We got more than expected, but no big deal since I had the guys all on stand by. About an hour ago. Yeah, it stuck. I think I don't want to admit that Winter is here. Two years ago we got womped with a major storm on Dec. 6. Three months and two weeks to go folks.
  3. I went to a loft/gallery concert and made it home in time too. I was checking to see if it started. It's wailing now. Weather.com sez: but it looks like more already (from the 8th floor).
  4. Snowing! 1st of the season and it's sticking, but I don't expect to see any there whern I get up in the morning.
  5. I bought myself a new guitar a few days ago. MIJ '69 Tele thinline reissue.
  6. Running fine with Win XP.

I like Ellen Fullmans Long String Instrument. That's some cool shit. Friends, I listend to Ellen Fullman's "Body Music" (XI)... three times in a row. Enjoyed it immensely. So much sound. Music to get transfixed by. Would love to see her performing live, but I doubt she travels too much with this monstrous Long String Instrument thingie. I heard her perform with the Deep Listening Band three days in a row at Columbia University. I wanted to find out how the structure changed from performance to performance. So did it change much? As I recall, each section wasn't exactly the same. I want to give the disks I have a good listen in the near future, it's been a while. I'm very interested in this kind of tuning system, having done a bit of work with something similar in the past 11 years.

I don't think it would be too much trouble to tour with this instrument, unless it gets restrung everytime it is set up. She would need a bit of time after setup for tuning, maybe a few days.

Flac decodes to a wav file, so it's CD quality, unlike a MP3 file. There's software out there to do the translation.
  11. It is, but in the rock world it's played out. As soon as a transcription got published, everyone was playing Little Wing. Open mikes, guitar shows, guitar stores and so on. Maybe a creative Jazz arranger could breathe some new life into it.
  12. TOO LATE! That's the last time I go to a guitar show with YOU! (Oh, I forgot--we didn't go. ) Not my problem.
  13. Yeah....I just went and adjusted it in my profile.
  14. Why do I hear someone moaning in the background?
  15. I think J&R uses their own database. The Classical label Mode has been releasing DVD versons of some CD releases. I was there yesterday looking for a Xenekis DVD of electronic music, they didn't stock that (they did have the CD, no thank you) but they did have Morton Feldman's Triadic Memories on DVD. The woman who was stocking the dept. said the Xenekis wasn't in the computer and they mostly stocked what they thought would sell. I noticed no Hat Hut and a few smaller labels missing.
  16. the Bad Plus & Ornette Coleman review
  17. Digby is the dog.
  18. Bite your tongue. Organissimo plays Peaches on their lastest CD. ...and this is exactly why the terrorist will NOT win. I'm extremely jealous : played the tune in High School and haven't been able to play it since. Yeah, I'm jealous...I'm a pretty good woodblock player, own a pair of black shoes, and have been innoculated for most diseases so, can I join your band? I'm sure I can find a 3" snare drum somewhere so's I can do that lil' snare drum part...

I love the drummer, David King i believe. Some cds are available for 5.99 from yourmusic.com. definitely worth it imo. How has the other guy on the bill?
  20. That's not fair. I can't even do that sober.
  21. Yeah, my clock is off too.
  22. The Back Room works for me.
  23. I always thought it was quite beautiful. I should give it a spin soon.
