Classic situation. Every day I dial into server in NYC and check on a back up because the people who work there are too fucking lazy to check it.

Apparently it includes the whole region of Mississippi, Lousianna & Alabama clear up to Kentucky & Ill. But the blues of the hill country (apparently the area east of the river south of Memphis) is different from the Delta blues. Mississippi Fred McDowell is hill country music. Folks are encouraged to correct me, I'm no authority.

Heaviest of all is to look at photos from a 1996 show of his at theStudio Museum in Harlem. Woah! I met someone else (can't think of his name) who had a space in one of the WTC towers. He placed contact microphones on the walls and recorded the sounds of the building moving in the wind. Later, after it all fell down, he made the recordings part of an installation at a mid-town gallery. Pretty creepy, all that moanin' and groanin'.

Original drummer with the fusion band Stretch. Used to play Wed. nights at the Court Tavern (New Brunswick) in the '80's. He then went on to play a straight ahead gig at Pizza Pinos (now a Chinese restaurant). I don't know what he's up to now, It's been about 10 years since I've talked to him.

Thanks. I knew about the three solo albums, but not about the other artists. I first heard him in the late '70's with the New Brunswick Jazz Collective and through the '80's with drummer Bill Elder. I was surprised to hear him on the Epitath gig. Know Bill?
