I agree with JS. Sure, it's sad but it's time to move on. If we're looking for people to blame, let's look at ourselves and the administrators. The Misc. Non-Music Forum was out of control and BN didn't pay much attention for a long time and then they took a sledgehammer when some careful chiseling was needed. Sometimes change is good and we can thank B3er for this site. Hopefully, we'll resurrect what was good and learn. The BNBB was special and hopefully this place can become a special site for us too.

I'm here also. I like the feel of this board, especially the look and it's the closest thing to the old BNBB. I'm also at AAJ but I think I like it here better. I hope others from the old board will be checking this out. Also the software is a big improvement over the old board.

Not only I do second the Queen of the Organ, but for other great dates check out Stanley's Dearly Beloved on BN with Shirley and Gene Harris Plus One on Concord. The one is Mr. T. If those don't convince you, then nothing will.

Wesbed, The one on PJ is Jazz Immortal and the other one, which is actually on Blue Note, is Memorial Album, remastered back in 2001.

Have you thought about the Pacific Jazz remasterings done by Rudy last year or 2001. They're essential. There is also the complete Brownie on EmArcy. However, that dates from 1989 and I know some of those dates from that box have been reissued in Japan such as the All Star Live Jam Session with Dinah Washington. There's also some cds from Fantasy that he made when in France under the titles "Clifford Brown Sextet in Paris" and "Clifford Brown Quartet in Paris". There's also Vogue releases, the Complete Paris Sessions (3 volumes) which are good and I think recorded around the same time. I believe he was with Hamp in Paris at the time.

Second the thought about the Verve release. There was also a release on Pablo (I believe) about a year or so ago, with Brookmeyer that was pretty nice.

I thought Ed's post were right on. It's really a ghost town and it's very saddening to think that only one week ago it was a thriving place. However, I think that is what management wanted. They didn't want the hardcore fans like us dissecting everything or analyzing this or that. They want people who will come there because of Norah and buy their new stable of artists and some of the new RVGs, etc. they put out. It wouldn't surprise me if the RVGs and traditional pre-70 jazz doesn't get issued as much as it did in the last few years. The one thing is that the hardcore of us that came to be BNBB have found this new home and AAJ to go to continue.

Mr. Son-of-a-gun, you hit the nail right on the proverbial head. There's not enough material there for a Mosaic Select, unless the Red Menace can find unissued material in the NKVD archives

I had heard only one Jones disc before, Jayhawk, and what impressed me from this set was Strazzeri. I had not heard him before and he was revelation. Carmell to me is definitely more in the Brownie sphere as opposed to say the BN Lee Morgan/Byrd style.

Is offering for sale ok as opposed to trade. What about providing a link to your own ebay auctions. I assume that if you saw an ebay auction that would be of interest to all of us, that would be ok. Are you keeping it greazy
