  1. These covers are typical of when Arista owned the label.
  2. Too bad they made only a couple of records.
  3. Last week:
  4. I subscribe to MHZ and recently watched both seasons of The Fallen. Big Sofia Helin fan. I’m now watching a Danish series, The Killing (season 1).
  5. First two discs so far.
  6. My copy, the 1993 Japanese issue, shows it as Jazz Eyes.
  7. Great idea. Send these to Scott!
  8. I see him listed on Savoy as “Jazz Eyes,” not Star Eyes, unless that is something else.
  9. Looks like this must have just been posted on the Mosaic site, unless I’ve been asleep. The Classic Oscar Peterson Studio Sessions With Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen Preorder price is $149, regular $169. I will definitely be up for this.
  10. I enjoy collecting vinyl. Yes, it is fun to rummage around in the stacks and discover something. I also still buy and listen to CDs. Mostly, I listen to CDs in the car and vinyl at home. When I rediscovered vinyl in 2019, I went a little crazy and bought Tone Poets of albums I have om cd. I no longer do that and try not duplicate what I have on cd. I also hardly buy new vinyl; it’s just too expensive. There’s a new company called Gammaut that is re-issuing the Mode catalogue at $50. Many seem to think it’s an ok price (shipping included) but I guess I’m frugal. The only new vinyl I purchased lately is the second Sinatra Tone Poets and that was definitely worth it. Mostly I purchased used albums and barely ever pay more than $20. I’ve been frequenting Whatnot and found some really good records.
  11. I was at two record stores in the last few days and there were plenty of copies.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion. Normally, I never shovel but because we were supposed to get 20 inches or so and I was concerned tge snow guy woukd need a backhoe, I did some shoveling while the snow was falling. Felt fine until a day later.
  13. Allen posted something about the book on FB. Frankly, I’m thinking he makes too much of this particular passage. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0vn8juNCWeExLk1gVYiHCzPdLnRDGYzcy13qVXDZofy9ME81G7Szy1snR6pGtddE7l&id=100000637954817
  14. Chiropractors is not something I’ve ever believed in. Unfortunately, I made it worse by doing some shoveling in February. Do a lot of stretching daily.
  15. Have never felt old in my head. Unfortunately, my back ain’t cooperating right now so until I get moving in the morning, that drags me down.
  16. Only one of two albums he made. The other (Indian Summer) was recorded by Chuck.
  17. I have finished reading two thirds of Tisma’s trilogy novels about WW II and the Holocaust in Novi Sad, Serbia. Excellent but harrowing.
  18. This doesn’t take into account the people who post about jazz at Hoffman.
  19. That’s too bad about Larry. I imagine it’s a function of life advancing to its inexorable conclusion.
