Can someone provide me with information to clear up questions I have about this 1978 recording for the Xanadu label? Some sources list the personnel on all six titles as: Ronnie Cuber - Baritone Sax Tom Harrell – Trumpet, Flugelhorn Mickey Tucker – Piano Dennis Irwin - Bass Eddie Gladden – Drums while other sources add the following musicians: Rein De Graff - Piano Sam Jones – Bass Louis Hayes – Drums Are these last three artists featured on any of the tracks, and if so, which ones? Also, do you know the names of the producer, engineer, and recording studio? Thanks a lot in advance.

oh my god! i performed with this guy a few times in newport, r.i. in the mid-70s! sweet pie used to perform these dirty songs (I seem to remember one called iF yoU C Kay) wearing nothing but a tiny g-string, even in the dead of winter. he was foul, crazy, and very funny. at least i thought so at age 19. i didn't know he had two records on the esp label. buy, i haven't thought about him for years!

now that you mention it, i recently heard a jazz artist's cover of hedwig's theme, written by john williams for the potter movie. unfortunately, the name of the musician escapes me, but i remember that it was a moving performance.

i only had the pleasure of meeting kevin's dad once or twice. i knew he was a character with a great sense of humor, but i had no idea of all the different things that made him such a special individual. only now can i appreciate the special bond kevin and his dad had. i share in his sadness, and i trust that he knows that i am there for him and his family, as a close friend should be.

i too am saddened by the news of his passing. i only became aware of malachi's artistry during the past year after i attended last year's chicago jazz fest. i was really looking forward to seeing him at this year's festival. i strongly recommend his 2001 delmark cd talking horns featuring oliver lake, hamiet bluiett, and willie pickens. r.i.p. malachi, and thanks for the music.

definately pat metheny. in the late-70s to early 80s, i was a big fan. now i can't stand the pmg, and i have little or no interest in checking out his other endeavors. there are too many other guitarists to listen to (jack wilkins, joe diorio, adam rafferty, to name just a few) for me to waste my time on the over-hyped metheny.
