  1. Somebody remind me - did the GRP impulse! CD reissue of Queen Of The Organ contain everything that was on that 2LP set? No matter the format, essential Scott and essential Turrentine, imo!
  2. geez, i've never had a facebook account and hopefully never will, why are they doing baseball games, for the russians, right, i don't see any RED soc games on there, fake sports, i'll bet.
  3. are you talking about in the car or at home?
  4. http://fedora.dlib.indiana.edu:8080/fedora/get/iudl:1056167/THUMBNAIL According to this, King Bee is on the left (I do recognize Gene Chandler), and that looks like the same guy to me.
  5. I've long wondered if somebody said something to Trane after that night, or if he himself got bruised by the mixed reaction. He was a sensitive guy, but like they say, don't mistake his kindness for weakness...
  6. Maybe? I don't know, but that would explain that then! oh HELL yeah! That was a record that I kind of dreaded before listening, and fell in love with after the first note. Do some google on "Home Cooking Records" and the names associated with it and the stories thereof. It gets pretty, uh...."interesting".
  7. It's still a grill, and the grease still drips off, there's slots in that grill surface. There are also lettuce leaves available, but I guess you have to coat them yourself. I don't go there to eat lettuce, kimchi is is as close as I get to lettuce. I've eaten at other, older places that do have the domed grill, though. They're good too, but this place has the best selection of meats and sides.
  8. This place: http://www.jinkoreanbbq.com/ All you can eat, grill the meat at your table, eat it up, go get some more, + delicious sides, etc. Under $20/person, hella good eating.
  9. Art Farmer's best work was not for CTI, let's put it that way. otoh, it is reasonably priced at $9.66 or so.
  10. yep. and slowly but surely, we're getting more and more Korean barbeque places popping up in the metroplex. Those places are dangerously delicious!

  12. Well, at least you paid the french price.
  13. I got lucky on that one and found the Solid State version from the 60s: That UA Douglas Collection from the early 70s had some classics on it, but yeah, the covers...hmmmmm,,,, Full list here: https://www.discogs.com/label/342604-The-Douglas-Collection but..they didn't get to it all (and vice-versa):
  14. There's a new V8? They finally got rid of the watercress, hopefully?
  15. Walk, dammit, WALK! Or else... http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-your-remote-controls/ Our Panasonic TV Remote started getting really assholey a few months ago, read somewhere that some remotes give up the ghost fairly easily and this was one of them. Ordered a replacement model, got a DIFFERENT model, but it worked anyway. But that's for one of those plasma TVs that has all, literally all, of the controls buttons on the side where even if you do walk up to the tv, you can't find anything except for back in there, so in this case, yeah, remote desired. But my CD player? Geez, I've used it, like...never and a half times? Walk. Unless you're stove up or something, in which case, sorry, no offense.
  16. they have a bumbershoot but not a mac. even i know that's a missed opportunity in the service of a failed rendering. the canadas should sue, or vice-versa.
