  1. The Cliff Lee's Coming Back To The Rangers rumors are heating back up again...ugh... The implications if this happens are, it seems to me: Plans to stretch Ogando back into the rotation will be tabled. That's a plus. He's not looked whole since his return from the DL, don't want to ruin him.Plans for Feliz are to shut him down for the season. That's a plus, and surgery is not out of the question (or so the gut says). Either way, he's not been right since going out, hasn't been right since coming back to rehab starts, and....let's not break him for good.4-5 starters to be determined between Feldman, Oswalt, & Lee. Feldman has begun to pitch like it's 2009 again. Oswalt still has that iffy back, and Lee...whazzup with Lee this year, anyway. The numbers don't look good, but the peripherals are,,,not horrible? Que pasa con Senor Cliffadelphia, anyway?I kinda got a good gut feeling about Feldman finally getting it together and being good for a ride here on out (he's been All That He Could Be for two consecutive games now, and you gotta like what that looks like), and a not so good feeling about Oswalt and his achey-breaky back, so...Lee could fill a need if he's not in fact broken. But at what cost? Not Profar, no. Not Olt, HELL no (if we don't give Olt for a rental of Prime Greinke, we sure as hell don't give him up for three more years of an On The Downside Cliffadelphia, even if Philly eats some/lots of the buckage). Not if they ask me! Interesting times....ugh.
  2. Or else just wait for the YouTube remix!
  3. Hadn't heard that before, not like that...I always called it N-ternational House Of Pancakes, be being a stickler for literalness and all.
  4. I try to keep minty when I'm with people. Especially after dining and before dancing.
  5. Looks like Grienke's going to the Angels instead of the Rangers, allegedly because the Brewers' price was uber=prospect Mike Olt, and we didn't want to give up Mike Olt for a rental. Not sure that the Brewers are getting too much from the Angels, but...that's their problem, This may well/probably will bite us in the butt big-time this year, but I for one applaud the organization's commitment to thinking and building long-term. WS wasn't looking like too much of a shot this year anyway, not at this point. So barring any big surprise, we pretty play with what we got, dig deep, and see what's really down in there. Who knows?
  6. An absence of Elvin, that's where, mostly. That's pretty much what they mean, even if they don't say it, for whatever reason.
  7. You're not alone. I love Jimmy Knepper's playing but, for some reason, that one never came across for me either. It also strikes me that you could take that cover photo, remove all the typefaces, put the appropriate big white border around it, and almost/pretty much have a LT cover.
  8. You ever have one of those days where you get up not feeling all that great, but you gotta go to work anyway, just because that's your job, that's what you do, and you get there and realize, yeah, I don't feel so great but it's not these people's fault, so you just go on ahead and do your gig and people can tell you're not really feeling that great but they appreciate that you're not taking it out on them and you even joke around a little bit to let them know that you appreciate their appreciation of your deal and soon enough the day is over and you and everybody can go home having done an honest day's work and nobody's fucked anybody over? You ever have a day like that?
  9. Minty, you say! Never a bad idea after blood, what with how some people get when they smell blood and such.
  10. I love Knepper, but for some reason (maybe just in my head) he sounds "dated" on this one...I can hear the math...which is weird, because the thing I've always liked about Knepper is how "timeless" he usually sounds...maybe I shouldn't have listened to those two Bill Watrous easy-listening records first.
  11. Opponents Of Fluoridated Water Endorsers Of The Use Of Stannous Fluoride Johnny Meastro and The Crests
  12. A record that probably pleased none of its target audiences.
  13. Watrous's followup album on MTA was a masterpiece of avant-garde easy listening. I'd long been curious about this one. Now my curiosity has been satisfied, and that will be that.
  14. The Delphonics The Phoneticians The Venetians
  15. Elton John, definitely!
  16. Joe Adcock + two others of your choice from the following:
  17. Roughly the same time period, a few years later, but more pop & much more mainstream in terms of appeal. Here he is again:
  18. No, but it is a popular musician.
  19. Same country!
  20. Wallace Beery? The name has some of the same letters, so...you're getting warm!
  21. Guess who?
  22. Haley Barbour The Barber Of Seville Ross Bagdasarian
