  1. ...and there was no one there to hear it, would it still make a sound?
  2. Even older school:
  3. More dating tips! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LvnncU3Dag...feature=related MAKEUP COMMERCIALS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOUrdBZcaDc...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SETOF8eR7g...feature=related That second one is kinda...out there...
  4. Aside from "Everybody's Talkin'", all I know about him is that he wrote "Dolphins" & that Tim Buckley sang the hell out of it. There's more then, eh?
  5. Point well taken, but hopefully so is the point that there's undoubtedly more than 30 people in the whole world (literally or figuratively) who know about Stockhausen...
  6. This was a recurring character on the late, lamented, Night After Night, but this is the only bit of it that seems to have been publicly preserved (so far). I think it's freakin' brilliant, and was severly disappointed when Nick Bakay's subsequent work was purely mainstream. Then again, he's had a good life, so more power to him. I'm just sayin' - this is the kind of wholly-formed, alternative universe, twisted comic genius that you don't come across just every day. Hopefully more clips will surface, becuase this character (whose name I can't recall) was one of the greatest TV comic creations ever, in my opinion.

  8. Awwwww....
  9. He should incorporate his solos (but not my horn, Chuck Berry's already doing that)! AND he should get his organ-playing buddy a gig!!!
  10. Well, just wanted to make sure. Gigs ain't to be fucked with, ya' know?
  11. Sorry to derail a serious thread btw, one that might mean a gig for somebody. Me & Shawn used to hang a lot when he lived here, so I assume a degree of familiarity here in the forum that although appropriate in general, is not in keeping with the sincere and serious nature of the thread, i.e. - a gig for somebody. My bad.
  12. Chuck Berry writes off my tenor? Damn, I do need to be incorporated! San Diego, here I come!!!!!!!
  13. http://www.dustygroove.com/item.php?id=skv...p;ref=index.php That's a fascinating lineup, to say the least, but I could also see this one going either way. The Marge sessions I've heard to date haven't exactly stressed preparation and/or careful production supervision, so it could be really raggedy. Quite possibly is, is my hunch. But in a good way or in a bad way? You know, good-bad. But not evil!
  14. The Miami Beach Hooker in question:
  15. You can go with me, I'll get them to incorporate a tenor solo. That means a potential tax break, right?
  16. Henry Morgan Betsy Palmer Bess Meyerson
  17. My daughter's been into Manga for more than a few years now....She gets a lot of it at Half-Price, actually.
  18. Hat's off to one baaaaaaad man!
  19. Was there also a Pablo?
  20. Walter Norris on the first Contemporary album, allegedly at Koenig's insistance. And the Hillcrest club was Bley's gig, not Ornette's.
  21. Trane & Elvin, yep I give Garrison major props for anchoring & McCoy the same for flying, but really, it could have been (and often enough was) Trane & Elvin. Pretty much damn near impossible to be noncommittal about Trane & Elvin, at least back then, I'd think.
  22. Maybe a trip to a Padres game is in order?
