  1. chuck, i want to learn: so you know a guy who has the best generation of this, what i assume, is a AM radio station b'cast? you know who has the best/only copy, and you took care of all the $/legal details etc, then you make a dat of it then create a cd glass master from it? things i do not need help on: this is awesome kenny dorham live in concert-- wait to we already know the personel/songs, etc? if its a suprise i can totally can wait PS CHUCK did u hear how i found a "Butcher Cover"??? its one of the most highly sought record albums of all time, in a way---im sure you must know about this....

  7. i played it last night, on the sonnys bank hank solos and then they trade at the end and hank plays some really good bebop lines on that part and then on the other one, i didnt know WHAT was going on....
  8. i cant hear hank on it i dont think. where is he?

  13. THE NUMBER IS A FAX-MACHINE, I THINK I HAVE TO SEND HIM A FAX. HIS AGE ON THE WHITEPAGES.COM IS LISTED AS 84. ITS DEF. HIM. MAYBE I WILL FAX HIM,BUT THEN, WHAT TO DO ABOUT ANY REPLY? DO ANY ORGANISMO MEMBERS UTILIZE FAX?
  14. right, ill be on the 1st plane to LA monday morning! lol, i love u guys
  15. really? can you share a little more about the crown section?
  16. Jsngry: what material was licenced from fantasy? the brubeck one i know what what else?
  17. no i meant i was gonna ask *him* his favorite, do u think thats a good question or not thanks for your support, it means a lot and is giving me the confidence to go fwd....
  18. easy for u to say Mr. Magic! lol!!! listen it might not even be him. theres a listing in Bev. hills-- thats plasuable, right? possible question: did you have a favorite record crown put out?
  19. 1) the 1979 lp i found question: when was the LAST of the LAST.... 2) what happened at 5810. was pressing done there? what about recording? 3) how many people did Crown employ? 4) do you still own the bldg? what else: im not delving into the history of Modern records R&B i read about that i wanna want to unravel the sketchiness of crown, that is my goal
  20. "-how many people did the firm employ?" i like it....
  21. the creeque alley 45 has these horns on it and its the original single mix the lp has a good mono mix but different than the single the stereo lp is a stinker cause they pan some of the voices to the L and some to the R and then they keep the instrumental tracks more or less in mono so the instrumental part of the mix is louder and the vocals are "cancelled out" and anyways weve been talking about it too long it sucks but i have discovered the UK Decca pressings can also be good: shipping a copy of the master overseas can sometimes be a GOOD thing: the vinyl quality actually is far superior to ABC Dunhill or whtever, defineltly
  22. if i call im gonna ask him one main thing: when did they cease the complete operation. i wanna know an exact date. you guys dont understand ive been a crown collector since i was in diapers and i have ***NEVER*** seen anything like this. heart of glass by blondie was not released as a single until jan '79. i know of no other records like this from this era.... ...oh im gonna ask him whats still at 5810 s. normandie or if they got rid of everything
