Have this one on the Reece Mosaic Select...it's too bad that he didn't get more recognition, he could play his a** off!

A sidenote in response to the whole "jazz-to-pop ratio" on this thread: Downbeat also said that Jacky Terrasson will be coming out with a solo record on Blue Note soon, so there's one more for the jazz side.

I have to throw in "Real Book." It may not be his most chance-taking record, but I really dig the band, plus I prefer Tom Harrell to Ryan Kisor (not to talk s*** on Ryan, though!).

According to the most recent issue of Downbeat, Greg Osby's contract was not renewed this year.

At Borders they were $15.99, full retail price. You can get them about four bucks cheaper at someplace like CDUniverse. Yeah, but it usually ends up about the same when factoring in shipping and handling. Just picked up the Gil Evans and the Jackie Mac (the Hill was out of stock). About the Blackburn...I'm interested, but I always like to listen to sound clips before buying, but there are none on the web. What should I be expecting from it?

I picked mine up today at Borders. As usual, they weren't out in the bins on the release date, and I've never had much luck with the "Information" folks, so I usually just go hunt for the "new release" cart (which is usually sitting unattended) and search on my own. I did find the ones I was looking for. I should work there- as I was crouched at the cart no less than three people asked me questions as if I was an employee, and I was able to help them in each circumstance. Hey, thanks for the help! How much did they cost there? Were they cheaper like they are online or were they still $17.99?

Anyone know if these are available at Borders? I checked the online inventory system and it didn't even indicate that these had been released.
