well mike, i guess i should have said the "hiatus" was from recording under his own name. however, i have ALL of the good weather report cd's (black market being my personal favorite) and let me tell you mike, atlantis sounds NOTHING like any of them. for what it is worth, the last really good weather report album was 1977's commercial success heavy weather (ok, with the possible exception of 1980's night passage), so wayne had in fact really "waned" from that point to 1985's atlantis.

hmmm, i never heard of this one before......wayne shorter.......atlantis.....1985.....and it's in the used bin, only $7.95!! ok, i'll give it a try, after all it's wayne, you know juju, speak no evil, footprints etc...it has to be good right? WRONG! oh my goodness, why oh why did you end your recording hiatus (10 years or so) with this stinker! i imagine i am going to get flamed for this but, so be it. p.s. earlier this year i heard wayne live with danilo perez, brian blade & john patitucci and they were amazing.
