It is interesting that the electric piano was created as a substitute for the piano, when there wasn't a real one, but then it took on its own aesthetic. I have no issues with a Rhodes/Wurlitzer and electric bass if they are playing funkified rare groove kind of stuff; but at the time, I heard far too many attempts at straight-ahead jazz with electric bass and electric piano.

Krzysztof Komeda - Rosemary's Baby I always loved this track, with that young-couple-in-the-city feel.

Well, I use the word "masterpieces" only half-seriously, but I can say that Jes Franco films are highly regarded within the Euro cult/exploitation film genre, which is a genre that I am into. Did you check out that track that I posted?

45s tended to have a shorter shelf life than LPs or CDs, and picture sleeves weren't always used throughout the run. So I agree, 45 picture sleeves are by definition seldom seen.

Jes Franco's best films are masterpieces of horror/sexploitation. The album I posted above is actually a compilation of Hübler/Schwab music from Franco films, including Vampyros and She Killed in Ecstasy. Also, while Vampyros was filmed in Turkey, it is actually a West German/Spanish production. (Franco was Spanish.) The Hübler/Schwab music is fantastic.

Space-age bachelor pad music was much more aligned philosophically to postwar science fiction. For example, check out Bernie Green's Futura (1961), which asked the musical question, "What will popular music sound like in the year 1970?" Of course, what Bernie Green imagined was far more interesting and inventive than anything that the hippies playin at Woodstock could have pulled off. And Attilio Mineo's Man in Space with Sounds (1962), sold at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, offering a foreboding view of the future, in contrast to the typical World's Fair themes of better living through science.

If we are talking about a stereo LP, 27 minutes is really pushing it. If by "super dynamic" you mean that there are some fff passages on the inner grooves, then yes, that could potentially be the pressing in general. When stereo LPs were created, engineers found that the sound on a side degraded after the 18-minute mark. The amount of degradation varied over the years based on a number of factors, but 27 minutes is definitely in the groove-cramming range.

How long is the LP side? If the side runs more than 18 minutes, the distortion may be baked in.

That Charlie Parker album is great! I happen to live in the universe where it was released. I would have preferred a more interesting song selection, but Jobim tunes tended to be the main focus of those early US Bossa LPs.

Nice, thanks for sharing! I don't recognize the tune. Based on the kinds of things Rugolo was wiring for Stan Kenton and later under his own name, the chart sounds fairly routine IMO.
