  1. Come on over and listen to my NM copy with me, provided you'll help me drink some wine.
  2. With a cover like that, this album has to be great.
  3. I have a great album by him from the polyester era. I think it's on an audiophile label, and he does big band/jazz versions of today's hits. I live for albums like this. They're so much better and more subversive than actual rock music from the period.
  4. That's been an issue with Scorpio lately. I wonder what's going on.
  5. In other news, Creed from "The Office" was in the Grass Roots. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcZ7jJnMThM He's on the left.
  6. I'd start with the Jutta Hipp/Jah Wobble collaboration.
  7. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcZ7jJnMThM He's on the left.
  8. Marty Manning - The Twilight Zone - Columbia stereo (Scorpio reissue) The cover features the TV show logo, but the music is unrelated. It's a space-age bachelor pad instrumental album with theremin and ondioline.
  9. Francoise Hardy - Mon Amour Adieu - Reprise (stereo promo)
  10. Monk - Big Band in Concert - Columbia (stereo)
  11. Beautiful. Thank you for posting.
  12. Very sturdy; I've had them for years and never had a problem. The only thing I would recommend is that if you stack these 3 units high (as I've done) that you attach the top to the wall with some sort of a bracket. Because you can attach the top middle and bottom shelves wherever you want relative to the sides, you can break up the pattern and do stylish things, i.e. create as smaller space between sections of records where you display chachkas or whatever. Also, be sure the one you're getting has the holes and pegs for stacking (I'm assuming there are variations of this model out there). I got mine at Home Depot and they cost around $13 or $14 a throw at the time.
  13. I have a room full of books and LPs and have lined the walls with these stackable modular storage units: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001B8BOA?smid=A...mp;linkCode=asn It gets to be a bit pricey after a while, at $13 or $15 a pop, but they have that mod European 60s look and they're functional. The middle and bottom shelves are adjustable, and the unit is high enough to create 2 levels of LPs per unit.
  14. Here's the trailer with Gary's music: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UHd5zNY-hBs
  15. Jequibau - Mario Albanese - Epic (stereo) Bossa Nova in 5/4 with piano, rhythm and strings.
  16. Dave Grusin - 3 Days to the Condor OST - Capitol
  17. Got my copy of "Eye of the Devil" from www.dustygroove.com You HAVE to get this if you're a HIPSTER!!! (They will not sell this title to squares)...
  18. The glory days for that store was late 80s/early 90s. It's nowhere near as great as it used to be, but that's just the way things are now with vinyl.
  19. I looked at this quickly and thought it was called "Blood on Santa Claus!"
  20. Thanks. I'm not a huge fan either, though I must have 12 or 15 of his LPs. One I've really come to like is the Verve album with Milt Jackson where they do "Green Dolphin Street."
  21. I just unloaded a sealed copy of this. What did I miss?
  22. Don Sebesky & the Jazz-Rock Syndrome - Verve (stereo) What a cover!
  23. Well, if Woody is hetero, why shouldn't he praise Terry?
  24. Easy Does It - Bobby Timmons - Riverside (mono)
