An all rockabilly set! She still can sing with that crazy raspy demonic tone that she conjured on those classic rockabilly sides 50 years ago!
She signed our mono copy of "Right or Wrong!"
Wanda Jackson - Reckless Love Affair - Capitol (Rainbow stereo)
This is great:
I have what was a radio station copy.
During this period of her career, she would do mostly country numbers with one or two wild rockabilly numbers. The last track on side one has this fuzzed out garage guitar riff. Everything else on the album is straight country.
I'm putting the LP back and I notice writing on the inner sleeve. It says:
Last Song
Side 1
No Good.
I can just imagine the old hillbilly at the radio station that freaked out when he heard the fuzz guitar.
Joao Gilberto - Brasil (WB, 1981)
w/Gilberto Gil, Caetano and Maria Bethania
Also Clare Fischer and Bud Shank.
Arrangements by The Great Johnny Mandel.
Maybe the last time major US and Brasilian artists associated with bossa appeared on a record together.
Herbie Hancock - 70s Blue Note twofer collection - Blue Note
Snobs can say what they will, but these collections are great instant gratification one-stop-shopping fixes, even when you have the original LPs.
Unless I missed it, you have not yet cited where this concept is legally addressed, or if anyone has tried to enforce it.
I understand the moral side of the question, but you haven't convinced me that it's ILLEGAL. Please enlighten me.
I hear you regarding iTunes. But is it specified on each CD that I have to destroy all copies if I unload the original?
I am simply asking where this is stated and under whose jurisdiction does it fall?
Well, it would be up to the RIAA or some mega corporation to press charges and even bring it to that level. I'm guessing that the RIAA frowns on this practice but haven't tried anything. That recent case which made the news involved alleged copies that were allegedly placed on a common drive, IIRC.
