I didn't realize Henderson recorded anything for Edison. Are these sides available on cd somewhere?

Oh, I remember that one. From when? It even had a strong soundtrack with a theme that got to be a big hit.
"Calling You" was the song from Baghdad Cafe. It was nominated for a Best Song oscar.

Mine started its lonely trip across the country yesterday. I'll get it eventually!

Obituary in Jazz Times.

Yes, thanks for posting that. While I agree that Fuller's solo on "Blue Train" is fine, I think I'd rate Teagarden's second solo on the live version of St. James Infirmary (Town Hall Concert) as the best I ever heard. That said, I don't think I ever heard a record by Fuller I didn't enjoy, and I have most of them! (In fact, I'm listening to him right now with Blakey.)

That's a very good deal on the Shaw CBS set.

It was time for some T.
Jack Teagarden "Big 'T's Dixieland Band" Capitol mono LP
I'm listening to the Fuller Mosaic set right now, but T is always a great choice!

A marvelous trombonist, and by all accounts, a lovely human being. RIP.

Yes — the Stitt album. I even have it! Some of my favorite Stitt playing. It looks like it was even the first thing Giuffre did for Verve. I've edited the list above. The Jazz Discography Project doesn't list the session in Giuffre's entry for some reason.
And, yes, the Piece for Clarinet and Orchestra does appear to have been recorded March, 1960. The Verve 2-disc set I have lists March, 1959. Must be a mistake.
Thanks for the corrections!A bit of Rosolino I didn't know about. I've added this one to my list!

Apparently, this was an idea that Michael Cuscuna had but just an idea. No work has taken place.
I mentioned this set to Scott in an email and he said "the Lee Morgan is not a definite." So that would seem to confirm the above.

If I was as talented as some here, I might put up one titled "The Complete Recordings of Anyone Who Ever Played the C-Melody Saxophone."

Everything I see above is what I know. What I would be interested in is what percentage of the total pre-bop recordings on BN do those CDs encompass?
That's a good question. It does seem to me like I remember reading *somewhere* from Michael that Mosaic had "completed" the pre-bop BNs with its releases, but my memory on that is far from sure.

Mosaic covered pretty much all the pre-bop BNs in its earlier days
#103 The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis (2 CDs or 3 LPs)
#108 The Complete Recordings of The Port of Harlem Jazzmen (1 LP)
#109 The Complete Edmond Hall/James P. Johnson/Sidney De Paris/Vic Dickenson Blue Note Sessions (4 CDs or 6 LPs)
#110 The Complete Blue Note Recordings of Sidney Bechet (4 CDs or 6 LPs)
#114 The Complete Art Hodes Blue Note Sessions (4 CDs or 5 LPs)
#115 The Benny Morton/Jimmy Hamilton Blue Note Swingtets (1 LP)
#119 The Pete Johnson/Earl Hines/Teddy Bunn Blue Note Sessions (1 LP)
#132 The Complete Blue Note Recordings of George Lewis (3 CDs or 5 LPs)
There were also the Ike Quebec and John Hardee sets, but I don't know if those would classify as "pre-Bop" or not!

Do they have all the missing parts now? Hope so, this is a set I could preorder without hesitation.
He didn't say, but my guess is that the fact the release date is that far out might indicate they're still searching.

I mentioned this set in an email to Scott, and he answered that they're hoping for a November/December release date. The cynic in me says that means some time in 2022.

At least that's more polite than the response I got when I suggested a Babs Gonzales set. . .Michael wrote back "Lon you are out of your mind!"
Which was a pretty good response to a request for a Gonzales set!
