She was knocked out cold in the elevator, then dragged out into the lobby and left lying on the floor while Rice simply stood around contemplating his next move, with absolutely no regard to the condition of his girlfriend. I didn't need to see his technique to explain what was already painfully apparent. And as far as the supposed "lie" Rice told the NFL? So slapping her and having her hit her head is somehow less violent?! I don't get that one bit. He violently attacked her causing her to lose consciousness. I really don't care whether it was an open hand or a closed fist. Both are equally dangerous coming from a strong professional athlete.

Apple's designs have been top notch for quite some time. I remember the first time I held a fourth gen iPod Touch in my hands. I was completely blown away by the quality. Especially having been a "fuck it, I'll get the $20 mp3 players from Walmart" type before that.

I'm not so sure. I knew that he hit her and knocked her unconscious, as we all did, but actually seeing it was something else. The blow itself, but also his reaction or lack of reaction to what he had done. He just stands there for a while, seemingly indifferent or pondering what he's going to do with her limp form, when some people might have thought that the blow had caused grave injury or even killed her. Larry, he dragged her out of the elevator. He didn't pick her up and carry her out, he dragged her. He showed complete disregard for her in that original lobby video. I have absolutely no idea how anyone could have seen that differently. It's like Dan Patrick said on his show the other day: "Can you politely knock someone out?"

Yeah, the press coverage from yesterday was almost as shameless as the leagues behavior. Really sickening. Yes, we all knew Rice knocked his wife out. How they were able to manufacture the outrage they did yesterday is mind boggling.

Since there was on ongoing legal investigation going on at the time, that video was indeed state's evidence, and the NFL had absolutely nothing to do with the legal investigation, nor the charges that were eventually filed. They wouldn't have even been recognized by the court unless Rice's attorney or the prosecutor called them in as a witness. In which case they still would have had no right to review any evidence pertaining to that case. This is a situation where breathless and world renown legal experts like Adam Schefter should really shut the fuck up, because not only do they have no idea what they're talking about but are confusing the hell out of everyone else with their moronic pronouncements.

No, they don't. Unless it was leaked. All security video taken is off limits to anyone who does not possess a subpoena, unless the owner grants them access to it. I don't give two shits who you send to retrieve it. Look, I work for a local drug rehab unit. We have cameras in our parking lots, and at least every other month the local Sheriff's department will come to us wanting to see video. They are politely shown the door. Keep in mind, these are sworn officers of the law, and legal authority. They possess the legal authority to arrest people for obstruction. And we send them on their way if they don't possess a subpoena. You know how loud we're going to laugh when someone shows up saying, "I'm from the NFL?!" If Rice had beaten his girlfriend in our parking lot, the NFL would have had zero access the video confirming it. Zero.

When you say "due diligence", what are you referring to? The in elevator video? They couldn't have seen it unless someone leaked it to them. They're not a legal entity, and have no authority to make any demands. Not until they enter into a court case. That's the one thing that really pissed me off when Florio came out talking about how "easy" it was for the NFL to see that video, and that it was something he learned from the movie, My Cousin Vinny. He made it perfectly clear with that statement why he was a failed attorney. As far as "banned him to save their own skins, and that is shameful", you couldn't be more spot on, IMO. It's as I said elsewhere, the NFL and the Ravens got the greatest get out of jail free card I've ever seen. I'm just shocked they had the wherewithal to actually take advantage of it. Though, I guess in fairness we should call what they did "shameless" instead.

I'm sure having the starting QB for the Rams being taken out of the game for an injury was a contributing factor to the outcome but I don't want to take that away from the Vikings, their defense had an "A" game yesterday. Eh, ordinarily I'd agree. But, the Rams QB's are pretty similar across the board. Hell, many Rams fans thought Hill was an upgrade from Bradford. And while he may be (very, very slightly), I don't see Davis as that much of a downgrade from Hill. He may be as good as both Hill and Bradford from what I've seen. No, that was just a dominant defensive performance from Zimmer and crew. No surprise to say that, I suppose, but I honestly thought the Rams would be a decent enough team this year. They'd just end up with a bad record mostly because of the division they play in, even though I thought they had a shot at overtaking Arizona because of all the defensive injuries. Minny just plain made them look inept. Kudos... I'm guessing that's your team, and if so, I think they may give you a season to enjoy this year. I'm certainly not high on Cassel, nor should anyone be, but he has a ton of high powered weapons around him (not to mention perhaps th one OC that has the tools to make him look really good). They may not end up with a favorable record due to their division mates, but they should be fun as hell to watch.

The Bills have one of the best defensive units in the NFL. The Bears have one of the worst. That outcome was almost inevitable. I hold no brief for the Bears (sound of teeth gnashing), but games whose outcome is "almost inevitable" don't go into overtime. Larry, the Bears should be a team that goes deep into the playoffs with the offensive firepower they have. IMO, they have the best on paper offense in the NFL this season. The Bills, OTOH, should not even sniff the playoffs, or even a winning record for that matter. But, more often than not, teams with great offense and little to no defense find themselves at the mercy of teams like Buffalo who still possess a pretty stout ground game, and a better-than-most-think defense. The Bills win was a pleasant surprise, but far from being shocking. Give me the team with excellent defense over the team with horrendous defense any day of the week. And twice on Sunday.

That was the most shocking game of the day. I didn't doubt the Viking could, and probably would, beat the Rams. But the complete dismantling was shocking.
