As a seller I have recently changed by procedure, and it's working great for me. I wait until I hear from buyer that they are satisfied, either in form of FB or e-mail, before leaving FB. Too many examples of weird buyers. Last one was someone who sent me a check after I told them it would have to clear first and to use Paypal or MO instead. Got an e-mail after a week threatening NFB because they had not received item. I've also had a few buyers refuse to insure their item. I've seen to many buyers blame the seller for damaged goods, though insurance was offered. How about the buyers that leave NFB because they do not like the music on a CD/LP they bought? LMAO!!

I guess I gave up mentioning this album a year or so ago. Glad to hear you like it. This is my favorite BN greeze session. Donaldson's entrances are classic and priceless.

Happy New Year, everyone!!! Buy more vinyl in '05!!! Bringing in the new year with scotch, Cuban cigar(Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No. 4) and Parlan Mosaic.

Well said, Ed. I wish the the expense of warehousing was the only problem, as I would gladly find some room. Was just listening to the Larry Young set thinking what an excellent pressing it is/was.

The organ threads got me to pull out a few of my favorites.... Grant Green: Talkin' About (Larry Young Mosaic) Jimmy Smith: Rockin' the Boat Turrentine: Never Let Me Go Great organ dates, major factor in making Blue Note best jazz label ever.

Not a huge fan, but I've had Temptation(beautiful double LP) for a few years and it gets spun frequently.

Ha..Not lately...LMAO.

10 Organ Records You Must Own To Post Here
wolff replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in Forums Discussion
I have only have 3 from the list. No Earland No McGriff as leader. No Patterson that I know of. No McDuff No Groove Holmes 10-20 Smith's. A few Scott's. Most of Patton's BN's. Young Mosaic. Willette's Stop and Listen Most of Roach's BN's. And am listening to George PapaGeorge as a sideman at the moment. Not bad considering none are ceedees. Please do not ban me!! -
Hail, spinlps wife!! Some blues this evenin': Eomot RaSun: Three Days Walkin' (Analogue Productions) Weepin' Willie: At Last, On Time (Analogue Productions)
-
Three East Wind direct to disc from late 70's. Love the realistic speed, impact and lack of distortion(especially on the highs) on these. LA4: Pavane.... The Three The Great Jazz Trio: Direct From LA
-
The Billie Holiday Story (MCA) Going down a Blue Note row: Smith: Plays Fats Waller Byrd: Royal Flush 3 Sounds: Hey There Blakey: Buhaina's Delight
-
Well, that is an example. They all gouge on the OOP stuff nowadays. Acoustic Sounds has been doing it for years. Look at some of their OOP 45rpm Classic Records prices. Anyway, RT is okay by me, OOP Mosaics aside.

Never, ever use a "Sharpie", them babies gas-off for a while. You can pretend to be Rudy VG and scribe it in the clear spot in the middle. Oh, crap!!!
-
George Braith: Two Souls In One Andrew Hill: Black Fire....Amazing LP!!!
-
How do you like them? You may want to get Classic Records KOB and Blue Train at some point if the copies you bought do not do the trick.
-
Example, please.

Johnny Cash's last few LP's are pretty good. Other than that....????

I guess it's the EQ Columbia used before adopting RIAA. Here is a LINK to the EQ some other labels used before RIAA. And here is a link to a current pre that addresses this. LINK

Crap, the Soultrane is a K-2 not a Mo-Fi.
-
Some pretty bad country music..... Don't tell your friends you can burn vinyl to CD unless you want to be doing this now and then.
-
My Heathkit(SP-2) pre has an EQ knob/switch for 78, Columbia and RIAA. A few high-end pre's include the Columbia EQ even today, for those with these LP's. BTW...I like this old (45 years) pre-amp. It's pretty much dual-mono and I can run the phono stage straight to my amp as each section(input) has it's own output controls. I have a feeling this thing would be hard to beat if I updated the resistors/capacitors in the phono stage.

-- i'm unsure myself now... all i know is jim a's mention of venus winning the volume war drew me in. then the increased dynamic range of their recordings was brought up. so i'm simply trying to tether the two together... *is* there a correlation? -e- Not that I know of. I just mentioned that the Venus I have seemed to have decent dynamic range, though it may have high volume, also. Which is okay by me. I do not particularly like recordings with lousy dynamic range that also have the volume way up there. I will not mention the popular label that specializes in this.

Born again! Great!!! Quite a bit is really killer on vinyl, but you may have to pay for it. No BMG clubs for vinyl. Most Classic Records' jazz titles are good, as is the Speakers Corners' catalog. Go to Acousticsounds.com and Redtrumpet.com. They have great search engines for vinyl. Go to Fantasyjazz.com and load up on LP's you do not have($9 each shipped if you buy 10 titles). Try Cadence, also. Buy some Mosaic LP sets. I'd go out of my way to buy Classic Records Blue Note mono titles. Speakers Corner Ella Songbook titles. And many, many more..... Plenty of great Venus and Eighty Eights titles. Check back with specific titles you are thinking about and maybe someone can give you a first hand opinion. I think my reissue of Love Supreme is very good and it may still be available. I'm pretty sure the Speakers Corner reissue is nice, also.

The only valuable thing(I know of) about this LP is the amp sitting on the floor. Sundazed has a ways to go in their jazz selections. I'd like to see him do some Atlantic and Columbia titles.
