  1. Leeway's AOW pick got me to spin some later Art Pepper over the last couple days. Ballads By Four...Art's 'Over The Rainbow'. (Galaxy) Today (Galaxy) No Limit (Contemporary) Thursday Night At The Village Vanguard (Contemporary) Friday Night At The Village Vanguard (Contemporary) and a couple reissues from Toshiba EMI Japan
  2. Yep, she said it was a very important present for a friend.
  3. Hello, Jim. I really enjoy your posts. Enjoy the Mabern: Don't Know Why title you did for Venus. Hard to put a finger on what makes this recording/sound/music stand out for me. It sounds a bit like some of the original Contemporary Records titles I have. Very, very natural musicality and not much distortion. Have you done other Venus titles?
  4. Well, 2 Nathan's(local store just got them in) are history. Chile, cheese, onion and tomato...yummmmmmmmy baby. I do not know if Sabbrett's are out here, but I'll look around.
  5. Jimi Hendrix: MCA Box..Highly recommended. A nice guy on the Hoffman site has sealed copies for $80..hurry!.
  6. Los Lobos KIKO First time eBayer won it. A big concern, but we've exchanged e-mails and all looks good. I recommended e-snipe so she will not have to bid 15 times, next time. About a month ago I sold Aaron Neville: Warm Your Heart UK LP to a fellow in China for $112. I knew this one would go for what it did., but still....
  7. Finally, a bidding war goes in my favor. An LP I sold that usually goes for $50, went for $142.
  8. Thanks...Heading to the store now. Touring the USA in search of the best chile dog will have to wait.
  9. Harold Mabern Trio: Don't Know Why (Venus) Has not been very far from the turntable all year. Larry Young: Mothership (Blue Note) Led me to get the Mosaic. Clifford Brown: Study In Brown (EmArcy) Boy Haynes: Love Letters (Eighty-Eights) Billie Holiday: The Billie Holiday Collection Vol. 3 (Columbia)
  10. Lately, I've been enjoying an occasional chili dog smothered in cheese and onions. What frank do you recommend? Any killer chili dog recipes?
  11. Happy Birthday, Dmitry!! Hope you got some nice vinyl.
  12. I guess they hid their arrogance well. The word 'Monster'? Give me a break.
  13. Nice!! Feel like making up an 8x10?
  14. Some more of the Desmond/Hall Mosaic and a couple BN reissues from Toshiba EMI Japan.
  15. About ready to start in on a box of LU Le Petit Ecolier Extra-Dark Chocolate. Only have one box, so I should be OK.
  16. Hmmm... I've never bought a hybrid disc(unless it's 33 1/3 on one side and 45 on the other ). Are the CD and SACD on the same side?
  17. One of my favs!!
  18. You may want to move this to a different forum.
  19. Thanks. Hopefully, the error has been corrected in more recent editions.
  20. Really? Heathkits? Last time I noticed my model went for $150-200. The Mac's and a few other go for the big bucks.
  21. I continue to really enjoy my old Heathkit amps. These 17WPC(EL84/6BQ5) mono blocks(UA-1) were purchased at a garage sale about 10 years ago. Made by Mr. and Mrs. Young in 1959. He's passed, but I run into her every couple years and I always mention how the amps are doing. I replaced the caps and most resistors. I use efficient speakers and play as loud as I want. I love the accurate, warm tone and big soundstage these little guys produce. As I listen to a reissue of Coltrane's Love Supreme I'm startled by the lifelike reproduction of his sound/playing.
  22. Original mono has red label. Original stereo has purple. Goldmine has it backwards and it's causing some confusion for me/others. All my mono's are red/maroon and stereo's are purple. Can anyone with originals confirm this?
  23. Since when is a 45 minute album an EP? It's also available as a 2 LP set.
  24. Ellington: Anatomy Of A Murder (MFSL LP) Sinatra: September Of My Years (Rhino) Stunning sounding reissue.
