  5. The liner notes describe the session as a "party" in the "large shack" where Emile Barnes repaired mattresses. In the New Orleans heat, all band members removed their shirts. The band sounds different from traditional New Orleans jazz, in fact like a ragtime orchestra. Some great clarinet from Paul Barnes.

  20. Branford Marsalis Quartet (Joey Calderazzo on piano,Eric Revis on bass, and Justin Faulkner on drums) at the University of Texas at Dallas, on Sunday afternoon. The best playing/performance I've heard from Branford. A really excellent concert.
