I suspect that this was because their guitarist was Mike Vickers, who went on to do arrangements for The Beatles and others. In 1970 Mike Westbrook put out an album with a band of all-stars called Love Songs. You might get some ideas there. Shortly after, Keith Tippet's Centipede put out an album called Septober Energy. Is anyone aware of a PD box or album which competes with the legit? I can think of only a Louis Armstrong Hot Fives & Hot Sevens box. It's a mystery to me why Not Now sounds so bad. I thought that the fear of red book digital was that it could be copied endlessly without sound deterioration. So what's Not Now's problem? I would be happy to learn about labels to avoid besides Not Now and Membran.
