Bombers 34....Als 33 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708485 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/scores/boxscore/?id=1411704 What a game! See-saw battle. The Bombers took the lead with 28 seconds left, and time ran out on the Als. The word on Troy Smith is that he has gun for an arm, but he is not accurate. ***** Eskimos 27....Redblacks 11 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4708503 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/scores/boxscore/?id=1411705 Ottawa did very well in the first half, but Edmonton controlled the second half. Adarius Bowman caught three TD passes. ***** PS - The two teams who missed the playoffs last year, Winnipeg and Edmonton, are now the only teams undefeated, at 3-0. They will meet next week.

Article About The Aging Classic Rock Market
GA Russell replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I believe that the term "Classic Rock" is trademarked by a radio station consulting company, and refers to 1970's fairly hard rock. The peak years of baby boomer births were 1956-1958, and it was in the '70s that these people were in high school. I read a while back that in almost every market the Classic Rock station was #3 in the Arbitron ratings, but I have no idea if that is still true. -

I came across a Jan. 30 BusinessWeek article on Sony's resurrection of the Okeh label, and its signing of Sonny Rollins. Although the jazz market is aging, Sony is going to go after it because jazz fans buy physical CDs. The article said that 14 million jazz albums were sold in 2007, but only 5 million last year. The author did not say whether those numbers are for the US market or worldwide. I suspect that the numbers include the smooth jazz people, but the article didn't say. http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-01-30/sony-targets-jazz-fans-with-okeh-record-label-revival

Alouettes 24....Lions 9 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4706642 The Als looked like a different team this week. Kevin Glenn threw another two INTs, making it 6 in two games. He threw only 7 all last year. ***** Eskimos 28....Ticats 24 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456477 Great game! The Esks took the lead with a Grant Shaw FG with less than two minutes left. On the last play of the game, Ticat QB Dan LeFevour was stopped on a quarterback sneak from the two.

Bombers 36....Redblacks 28 http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456392 The Redblacks had the ball three times in the first quarter, and scored a touchdown every time. Chevron Walker scored the team's first-ever points with his touchdown. But the Bombers clawed back, and took the lead for the first time with a little over two minutes left in the game. Bombers rookie Nic Grigsby scored three TDs, and had a great game. ***** The Bombers released Korey Banks, and thus lost the $60,000 signing bonus they gave him. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456380

This report says that not only does no one buy CDs anymore, but the kids aren't buying mp3's like they used to. Instead, the kids prefer paying for the premium streaming services. http://www.showbiz411.com/2014/07/03/music-biz-alarm-all-albums-down-14-1st-six-months-2014-streaming-way-up-kids-dont-want-to-own-the-music

Catching up on last weekend's games... Stampeders 29....Alouettes 8 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705153 It was 29-1 when the Als scored on the last play of the game. I have to think that their offense problems are related to the dismissal of Rick Worman a couple of weeks ago. ***** Eskimos 27....Lions 20 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705155 See-saw battle for three quarters, but Kevin Glenn threw four interceptions. ***** Roughriders 31....Tiger-Cats 10 http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705321 The Ticats were never in it. Sask rookie running back Anthony Allen had a huge day. And the Ticats' o-line looks pretty bad. The Ticats are the youngest team in the league this year. ***** Because the three Eastern teams all lost, the RedBlacks are alone in first place before ever playing a game! ***** The Bombers signed Romby Bryant. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705231 The Bombers also suspended Korey Banks. He asked for his release, and they suspended him for the time being, apparently so they wouldn't have to pay him. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4705464 ***** Mo Price broke his hand against the Als. No word yet on how long he'll be out. http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456134 ***** Lowell Ullrich reports that the league is discussing with the NFL the idea of the NFL paying the league for players they sign. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/paving+towards+sale+players/9991463/story.html?__federated=1 ***** CBC power rankings. http://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/football/opinion/2014/07/cfl-power-rankings-week-1-2.html cfl.ca power rankings http://cfl.ca/article/cflca-power-rankings-stamps-top-inaugural-2014-list ***** Highlights videos http://cfl.ca/article/cfl-replay-a-look-back-at-week-1-20140630113410 http://cfl.ca/video/index/id/98091 ***** Chris Schultz Week 2 picks http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=456073 Gregg Xenakes Week 2 picks http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=sportsnetwork&page=cfl/news/news.aspx?id=4706102
