  1. I remember one time when the man was from San Diego, the woman was from San Diego, and their prize was a night out on the town in "beautiful San Diego!" RIP. By the way, as you may or may not know, the theme from the Dating Game was written by Chuck Barris, and performed by Chet Baker and the Mariachi Brass.

  18. Happy Birthday 2014 TF!
  19. Looks interesting, Scott!
  20. My first thought was that #1 should be the invention of milk chocolate, which the site says was Nestle. My second thought was that #2 should be the plain Hershey bar, for marketing reason. And my third thought is that #3 should be the first commercially successful bar to be made of faux chocolate, referred to on the wrapper as "chocolaty." I don't know what that was, but I'm confident that the fact that it sold well was influential. PS - Let me add a fourth. Canada had a huge bar known as Mr. Big. Now a lot of bars are sold in an extra-big size.
  21. I have no knowledge of her television work, but I remember her well as CBS's leading radio actress in the '50s. For example, she was Miss Wong on Have Gun Will Travel. It seems to me that she also had a large role in the movie Operation Petticoat.
  22. I have seen Miles Davis, Herbie Mann and Roland Kirk three times each.
  23. Here's something you might find interesting. In some cases, it is the marketing rather than the candy that was influential. Any disagreements? http://newsfeed.time.com/2014/02/18/13-most-influential-candy-bars-of-all-time/?iid=sl-article-moreontime
  24. Thanks Lon!
